⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seroja is, without a doubt, one of the most exciting and accomplished dining experiences in Singapore. Every dish showcases an extraordinary level of technical precision while remaining deeply rooted in the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia and the wider region. The kitchen demonstrates remarkable skill in transforming humble and unique Asian ingredients into refined creations that are both innovative and respectful of their origins. The flavours throughout the meal were exceptional—layered, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. Each course told a story, highlighting ingredients rarely seen in fine dining while elevating them through impeccable execution. The team’s mastery of textures, temperatures, fermentation, sauces, and seasoning was evident in every bite, creating dishes that were intellectually stimulating yet immensely satisfying. The standout dishes for us were undoubtedly the pomfret and the duck rice course with green sambal. The pomfret was beautifully prepared, allowing the natural sweetness and delicate texture of the fish to shine while being complemented by nuanced flavours that enhanced rather than overshadowed the ingredient. Equally memorable was the duck served with rice and green sambal—a dish that perfectly captured the soul of Southeast Asian cuisine. The duck was expertly cooked, rich and succulent, while the fragrant rice and vibrant green sambal brought layers of spice, freshness, and complexity that tied everything together. It was comforting, deeply flavourful, and technically flawless all at once. What truly sets Seroja apart is its unwavering commitment to celebrating regional ingredients and traditions. The menu feels authentic rather than performative, offering a genuine exploration of Malaysia’s diverse culinary landscape through a modern lens. Every plate arrives with a sense of purpose and craftsmanship that reflects countless hours of research, creativity, and technical refinement. From start to finish, the experience was memorable, inspiring, and delicious. Seroja is a shining example of how Southeast Asian ingredients and flavours can stand proudly on the world’s finest dining stages. A truly outstanding restaurant that deserves every accolade it receives.

An extraordinary dining experience that quietly redefines what modern Malay cuisine can become when placed in the hands of people with genuine vision, discipline, and respect for heritage. Under the leadership of GM Long Trán and the remarkable culinary direction of Chef Kevin Chong, every course carried precision without losing its cultural soul. The flavours were layered, elegant, and deeply rooted in Malay culinary identity, yet presented with the confidence and refinement expected of world-class contemporary dining. Nothing felt forced or gimmicky. Just clarity, balance, and craftsmanship. Particular highlights were the extraordinary depth of the broths and sauces, the impeccable seafood execution, and a dessert programme that showed rare restraint and sophistication instead of excessive sweetness masquerading as creativity. Even the bread service deserved applause. Which is mildly inconvenient because ordinary bread now feels emotionally inadequate. Service throughout was warm, polished, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable without becoming performative. This restaurant does more than earn a Michelin star. It restores rightful attention to the depth, complexity, and elegance of Malay cuisine on the global stage. A deeply memorable experience and one of the finest expressions of contemporary Malay dining I have experienced.

Seroja is one of those restaurants I happily return to once or twice a year, and each visit somehow feels better than the last. Chef Kevin may be young, but his craft, confidence and creativity show in every dish. The cuisine is thoughtful, refined and rooted in familiar regional flavours, yet always with a fresh and elegant twist. The ambiance is warm, stylish and relaxed, making it a lovely place for dinner with friends, family or even business contacts. The team is also top notch, friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. A wonderful dining experience and definitely one of Singapore’s restaurants worth supporting.

The food was absolutely wonderful, and what made the experience even more memorable was the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The presentation of each dish was beautiful, and the staff took the time to explain every plate, making the dining experience feel thoughtful and engaging. The menu also offered an interesting combination of flavors. My personal favorite, though, was the bread and butter and lobster dish. It was simple yet outstanding. They also went the extra mile for my partner’s birthday. I had only requested a candle, but they surprised us by including a “Happy Birthday” message on the plate as well. Other small touches stood out too - for example, someone was there to guide us to the washroom (and even walk us there). It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. I don’t see this often so was pleasantly surprised. Overall, my partner and I had a lovely dinner there today. While it is on the pricier side, the experience, service, and attention to detail make it worthwhile. If you are looking to treat yourself or celebrate a special occasion, I would wholeheartedly recommend dining here! 👏🏻
