This place has some good stalls. Several I've yet to try. But their garlic toast and eggs is my go to if I'm in the area. If I'm either wanting breakfast or a light lunch. For just $3.50, you can get one of several breakfast sets. The garlic toast set is one I've not seen anywhere else. Come to think of it, the other sets are generally not normal either! No kaya in sight! It's nicely toasted, nicely garlicky, good on it's own, good as a dip into the eggs. The eggs are also very orange in color! I think this means they are good eggs with high in Omega 3?
View on GoogleSeng Huat is a coffee house that opens till incredibly late. Their fishball noodles and biang biang noodles stores are both opened 24 hours, and the rest close at 10pm. In the day, they have a regular kopi store, and a mala tang place that's always seeing a good stream of customers. Price points are really good here, and the portions are very generous. I recommend the golden soup ramen noodles at the biang biang store, and the lime/lemon juices the kopi store has. If you're coming late at night, check the fridge next to the fishball store for these drinks! They keep leftover stock in there for midnight customers.
View on GoogleThe mixed rice was tasty, though a bit on the pricey side — $6.60 for 1 meat, 2 veg, and 1 egg. But the most popular food stall here is probably the bak chor mee — it’s delicious and more reasonably priced at $5 a bowl. The coffee’s not bad too. Just a heads-up, there’s no air-conditioning, so it can get a little warm in the afternoon. If you're seated nearer to the outer area, do be careful — the crows nearby might steal your food the moment you step away! 😅
View on GoogleI had the BiangBiang 3 in 1 noodles (N.2). Big portion and quite delicious. They were made fresh from scratch, complimentary soup if you still have some room in your stomach. Plenty of seats available on a Friday morning (10am)
View on GoogleThe food was ok, the problem was the drinks! I bought a lemon tea to quench my thirst but the first sip tasted like syrup and there was only a small slice of lemon so there was no lemon taste at all. I asked the staff for a glass of ice to dilute the sweetness but was told that ice would be charged. I told her that the drink was too sweet but she looked at me like "it's none of my business". I tried to dilute the sweetness with my own water but all I got was a glass of tea colored syrupy water!
