What a great value, set lunch for $28. Service was great, but we were early for lunch so very few customers. The French Onion Soup had lots of cheese and with substance. The seasonal White Asparagus appetizer was very well presented. A great value with a $3 up charge. The mains, Barramundi and Duck Confit were very filling. Didn't have any wine but the pricing from the wine list is reasonable. A great place for good food with great value.
View on GoogleIt’s been many years I did not visit this place. The food I like the most is the duck confit and that’s the reason I come back. I would say this is the best duck I have in sg. I love the pistachio panna cotta a lot but now they don’t sell it anymore. So I have the creme brûlée instead and it is very nice as well. Appetiser I choose the pasta because I love the thin texture of the pasta and it has truffle oils taste. Weekday lunch set is $28++ for appetiser, main course and drink. There’s $35++ if add on dessert on top of the appetiser, main course and drink. Good place and will come back.
View on GoogleCame back here for the truffle pasta and french onion soup and it didn’t disappoint at all! Super delicious and the set is very reasonably priced. No idea why this place only has 4.1 stars - we postulated that people were trying to gatekeep. Food and ambience are great, and the staff is prompt and nice as well.
View on GoogleA birthday dinner was celebrated at the Saveur on Purvis. This French eatery lived up to its name when we ate on a Saturday evening czo the place was packed. We ordered 4 sets. The steak, 2 fish and the signature duck confit. Steak was very well cooked, still moist and tasty. The sauce that came with it was also great with onions in it. Duck confit was nice, also with flavouful sauce. Fish was however slightly bland and lacks punch. All sets came with starters like the French Onion soup and fois gras with desserts like our pistachio ice cream and creme brulee. Ambience at this place is alright. Quite nicely done up, but nothing to shout about. Service was quite okay too, except for a grumpy Malay lady whose face was as black as her uniform. Pricewise, it's not too bad. Rather reasonable for French food like this. Parking is quite a nightmare here. Trying to find a lot along Purvis is nearly impossible. Overall, I'll be back to try their other dishes, I think it will be worth the trouble.
View on GoogleSaveur | French Casual Dining has a relaxed, unfussy atmosphere that still feels special. I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were for the quality, and trying a few of the signature dishes made the meal feel well worth it. It’s the kind of place I’d happily return to when I’m in the mood for French food without the formality.
