⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Izakaya Experience Near Bugis! My friend and I walked in without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised when the staff quickly accommodated us despite the fully booked counter seats. The atmosphere was lively and authentic, just like a traditional Japanese izakaya. Highlights included the soft and flavorful Mentaiko Tamago Yaki, rich Salmon Belly & Ama Ebi Kani Miso, smoky charcoal-grilled Wagyu Beef Cube and Kurobuta Collar, as well as the crispy Kaki Fry and Tori Karaage. Every dish was well-executed and packed with flavor. Considering its location right next to Bugis MRT, the food quality, variety, and pricing offer excellent value. Service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming throughout. Pros: Great food variety, authentic izakaya atmosphere, accommodating staff, and good value. Cons: Counter seats fill up quickly, so reservations are recommended if you want the full paddle-service experience. Will definitely return and book ahead next time! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Saw the great reviews and ratings and decided to give this a try. I'm so glad we chose the counter seats, which provided an awesome view of the live robatayaki grilling in action. Besides the fresh sashimi, what really stands out is watching the chefs prepare the hot dishes right before your eyes over open flames. The grilled Mentaiko is meticulously executed—crispy on the outside, yet still soft and moist on the inside. I will definitely be going back to savour their grilled fish and octopus.

We had a wonderful meal at this clean restaurant, where the service is good and every dish is incredibly fresh. We started with the fish crackers, which were perfectly crispy, followed by the sashimi, which was exceptionally fresh and clean. The grilled fish was delicious, and the honey yuzu tomato was incredibly refreshing. Overall, the food is very nice, and we highly recommend it!

Made a reservation for a Saturday evening dinner and specified counter seats. The vibes were great, feel as if I’m back at a Tokyo Robata. But it’s not entirely the same, since big items like fish seem to be cooked in the back kitchen rather than in front of you - only skewers and other items are cooked in front of you. The seafood on ice at the counter also don’t seem to be used for cooking, I didn’t see them take any and cook directly the entire evening. But if one does not delve into these details, the experience is still 80-90% close to a Japan one, with dishes served up to you on those long handles. One thing that can be improved on is the sequence of food served. It took a long while for my white rice to be served, even after a few grilled fish items came, and after I reminded the service staff. The family next to mine had it worse - not only did their rice come late too like mine, their sashimi came last, after all the cooked items. Hopefully this can be improved on. Will still come again.

A great place to come for yakitori. Try and get a bar seat and your dishes will be served on a long paddle. We could not resist and ordered a whole variety of dishes. Our favourite were the Kani miso, kawa ebi, tsubodai, mochi tofu and bonjiri. We also had the sarume ika and the house sake. The food was delicious (albeit very salty) and the experience was fun.
