Enjoyed the pourover black coffee from El Salvador El Izotal Pacamara Did some reading on it. In El Salvador, El Izotal primarily refers to a village (cantón) and a renowned coffee farm located in the high-altitude mountains of the Chalatenango Department. Pacamara is a world-class specialty coffee variety that originated in El Salvador. It is most famous for its exceptionally large beans and a complex, "wild" flavor profile that frequently dominates international competitions like the Cup of Excellence. Like the snarky free butt ventilation sign. It could be a value add! Also, the employees packed lunches looked super interesting. One girl seemed to have what looked to be strawberry cheese toast, while the guy looked like hard boiled eggs and a different toast. Wonder if they're a couple (looked kinda sweet 💕)

Had the Colombia Gesha (Santa Barbara #1, Honey process, roasted by Slurp Coffee Project) at SGD 15. This was my first visit after it sat on the watchlist for a while — worth the wait. The barista is genuinely engaged. We had a proper conversation about upcoming filter beans he's excited about, and he mentioned they're looking to refresh the brewing setup — possibly moving away from the V60 to flat-bottom or even siphon. That kind of transparency about where the programme is headed is rare and appreciated. On the cup itself: the brew protocol was deliberate — four equal 50g pours with the first at 52g to keep the bloom controlled, run through a ceramic V60 on a Mahlkönig EK43 Mini. The result was more composed than you might expect from honey process in a conical. No overextracted bite, no sweetness overload. What came through was a smooth, almost tea-like body at first sip — restrained in the best way. As it cooled, the stone fruit showed up properly: nectarine and a light bergamot floral that sat quietly in the background without demanding attention. By the time it was fully cool, mandarin orange and a clean honey sweetness came forward and settled into a genuinely lovely aftertaste. This is a cold-cup Gesha. If you drink it too fast you'll miss the point — give it time and it opens up well. Two filter options on the menu today (the Peru Natural Sidra+Caturra at SGD 12 also looked interesting), plus the Barista's Stash blind option at SGD 10 if you want to leave the choosing to them. Small but considered selection. Will be back, especially if the brewer upgrade happens.

Visited on a weekend in the late afternoon. The café has a very chill, minimalist vibe with high ceilings, and the air conditioning made it a comfortable place to escape the heat. Seating includes counter seats where you can watch the baristas prepare coffee, a few small tables along the wall, and a large communal wooden table with benches that's great for bigger groups. Ordered: Iced White (SGD 8.50) Iced Mocha Banana Loaf (SGD 5.50) I really enjoyed the bakes, they were delicious. That said, the banana loaf felt a little small for the price. Note: There is no public toilet available.

Headed over to Purvis Street to catch a breather at Pinhole Coffee Bar. I paired silky White coffee with dark & dense Sea Salt Brownies. The savory crunch of the flaky sea salt perfectly balances the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate.

Was looking for a coffee place to chill and write around bugis / bras basah and found this place. Went in at about 3:30pm in the afternoon and there was quite a few patrons. The coffee was great ($6.50 for 7oz) and it’s relatively quiet. Would recommend visiting this cafe if you’re around the area and especially if the other cafes are too crowded and noisy.
