A most wonderful experience. The food was actually better than I expected. The steamed chicken is one of the better ones, comparable (for me) to BTK. Not too oily, not too salty, with a light fragrance, meat is firm (not mushy) yet soft, with that nice little layer of gelatine below the skin. The charcoal tofu was a real delight-the skin was crispy and the sauce gave it a nice flavour with the goji berries. Hainanese pork cutlet was good, better than some more famous shops. Fried hokkien mee was also pretty tasty, cooked in a rich flavourful prawn broth. Actually I found the portion quite generous, although price is a bit on the higher side. Then again, other famous chicken rice places like BTK and Five Star are all priced that way. Good thing is no service charge, so you will make it slightly lighter on the pocket. And I must say that the small team ran the place very well, good camaraderie and the super busy single female server very fast, friendly and capable. The only downside is that the shop is a bit small, so it can become a bit noisy and there might be a little wait. Will definitely continue to support this shop.
View on GoogleI’m a regular here.. used to like the chicken rice alot but noticed that the quality and quantity has dropped since after CNY.. the yummy meatballs in soup was removed and now it’s just soup alone. The food portion is reduced quite abit. (See photo- it’s just about 5 pieces of very thin meat which fill only about half the tummy of an average eater like me. The same order used to make me very satisfied but now at most half). I gave it another chance and came 2 more times with not too much differences. In the past the portion and price is really reasonable but no more. Hope you can improve on this. Taste is still not bad. Staff service is not bad and they do recognise their regular customers. Atmosphere is nice but aircon is not powerful enough esp in hot afternoon.
View on GoogleFood was pretty good! I rate it 4/5 because the potato wasn’t as good for some reason.. felt like it was boiled separately in water.. and part of it wasn’t very soft.. service.. felt like they didn’t want to work there and I get it… it was soooooooo hot inside…. In the middle of the day in the summer.. with no AC on.. it was unbearable and could not enjoy the meal properly.

View on GoogleThe Kai Lan could be cooked a little longer for it to be softer, and the sauce to be mixed with water to make it a little more watery instead. I think that would've made it taste a little better.
