Everyone goes to Fat Bird for the soup broth… …but the REAL cheat code? 🤫 Their dry claypots, skewers & tapas are lowkey the main character. IYKYK 🫢 Here’s the exact 10/10 dish you should try! 🍗 House Special Chicken Pot (奇味鸡公煲) Not spicy, but PACKED with flavour. Free-range kampung chicken glazed in a rich, slightly sweet, deeply savoury sauce with insane wok-hei. Bonus: soft tofu now IN the pot 🤯 soaking up all that thick gravy. We added potatoes + veg… zero regrets. They braise straight into the sauce. 🐟 Golden Pickled Vegetable Fish Slices Pot (金汤酸菜鱼片) Silky fish slices swimming in a bright golden sour broth. Tangy, comforting, and basically resets your whole palate after the chicken pot. 🌶️ Chongqing Spicy Chicken Cubes (重庆辣子鸡) Crispy popcorn chicken buried in dried chilli + Sichuan aromatics + crunchy potato bits. Addictive is an understatement. 🥬 Sichuan Hand-Shredded Cabbage (手撕包菜) Wok-fried, smoky, still crunchy. Classic zi char energy. 🍜 Prawn Vermicelli (虾皇粉丝) Glass noodles soaking up garlic oil + prawn essence at the bottom of the pot = elite move. 🥩 Pork & Chicken skewers Juicy, cumin-heavy, chilli-dusted street food perfection. 🥔 Potato slices & long beans Charred edges, smoky bites, super snackable.
View on GoogleGreat spot for authentic Chinese home cooking in Bugis! The spicy chicken pot and peppercorn fish were the highlights of our meal. Every dish was well-seasoned and freshly cooked. Portions are big and the overall price is affordable for central Singapore. Convenient location, tidy dining area and friendly service. Highly recommend this Fat Bird restaurant for anyone craving spicy food.
View on GoogleSatisfying meal. The portion is also very generous. Their peppercorn fish slice is rly good, not the usual ones you get in chinese eateries. The Bonito Dumplings also something you got to order, if you love tako balls this is the same concept but on gyozas. Recommend to come in bigger groups like 3 pax up then you can order more varieties. Oh if you like手撕包菜, this place one is really good!
View on GoogleThis might be the most affordable chicken rice ever! $3 a plate with generous amount of fragrant chicken rice and chicken which was tender. You must pair it with their chilli and ginger for the ultimate burst of flavour! Apart from chicken rice, they also sell double boiled soup like ABC soup, lotus root soup and Old cucumber soup. Both soups which we tried were naturally sweet and filled with pork ribs and other ingredients. I love their sour sauerkraut fish which came with vermicelli noodles and many fish slices. Their pan seared dumplings were also so juicy with a nice crispy crust! I’ll definitely be back again for such tasty and value for money food at Fatbird!
View on GoogleDishes were not bad, but nothing special. The menu indicated that the dish was Hunan Stir Fry Pork with Green Chilli, not Hunan Stir Fry Pork Belly, so when the dish came out with thin pieces of fatty pork belly, we were slightly disappointed because the dish was very oily too. Menu should be clearer to match expectations.
