Had an enjoyable dinner at Xiangju at Guoco Midtown on a Fri night. Food (stir fried pork with green bell, lotus soup, stir fried lotus root tips and brown sugar rice cake 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼), service (very attentive, friendly, polite) and environment are awesome. Worth visiting.

The food is tasty and staff is very nice and helpful. Portion is more than sufficient. For 5 pax, we ordered the 2-3pax set with 2 additional dishes.

Chose this place for lunch as the ambiance is pretty good. Chose their set meal for 4-5 pax. Service 4/5 Not too bad, service staff was helpful and accommodating. Food 3.5/5 Nothing that’s mind mind-blowing but was acceptable. Conclusion Pretty reasonably priced ($128 for 5 pax) for an air conditioned restaurant that’s comfortable & good for socialising. Many eateries around this area, would be a long while before coming back as the food was ok but not awesomely good.

Excellent service level, really great intro to Hunan cuisine, spice level is much lower than mala spice. Lotus root soup is well done, not over cooked, not cloudy. Flavourful green chili slice pork, thin lotus dish is recommended (see pic).

Dropped by for lunch to try their 剁椒鱼头, and it delivered. The flavours were on point — not overly spicy, not crazy salty, and thankfully not swimming in oil. The freshwater fish didn’t have that muddy, earthy taste either. Plenty of meat inside the head, with a good amount of gelatinous bits too. The 青椒皮蛋, 手撕包菜, and beef shank were all solid as well. Would consider coming back.
