We tried a variety of items, but overall, the experience was underwhelming. The Classic Burger was disappointing — the minced beef patty was too crumbly and fell apart easily, making it hard to enjoy. The Magic Mushroom burger was also quite pricey, especially considering the small portion of ingredients. While the lunch set is reasonably priced and doesn’t include GST or service charge, you do have to clear your own plates. The place wasn’t crowded, yet one of our friends had to wait a long time for her food — despite ordering at the same time as the rest of us. Most of us had nearly finished eating by the time her meal arrived. To be fair, we were a group of 11, so that might have contributed to the delay. The menu is not user-friendly — there are no pictures, and everything is very manual, including payment, which must be done at the counter. There were no cakes or even a candle available when we asked, which was disappointing. Overall, the lunch set might be worth it if you’re nearby and looking for something simple, but without it, the food doesn’t offer much value or anything particularly special — especially the burgers.

This is total bullshit. Let me call this! I’m not sure how they get the high star reviews but the price is definitely not student price. This smaller than palm size cafe latte set me back by $6 which in comparison to Starbucks latte is a little steep in price. You can argue “oh it’s better coffee bean…..” but be reasonable, how many shots of coffee and how much milk, your margin from this cup is definitely a 1000% mark up. Considering this is in a school, whether if you are managed by a private entity like TiPo, this shouldn’t be a slaughter house.

This is essentially LaSalle's canteen. And while it tries to pass itself off as a cafe, its Antarctica-like temperatures and sad lighting make the atmosphere bleak and gloomy, despite the overwhelming crowd of 'artistic' youth that forms its predominant clientele. If not for the fact that I'm attending a  course at this very art school, we wouldn't make a detour to be here to sip on pretty normal coffee at, IMO, unjustified prices. Why anyone else would choose to hang out at this cafe is beyond me. Its mere existence is seriously puzzling. Tasteless Tundra vibes, anyone?
