Old shop. Good drink. Excellent, silky beancurd. Curry puffs, sesame yellow bean cakes, mango pudding are great. You tiao is interesting. Butterfly bun, red bean bun, salted bun are OK, not exceptional. Pavement seats are very limited. More seats upstairs.
View on GoogleNostalgia. Quality and ambience are 3 stars but one extra star for old times' sake. Tau huey quite alright, grass jelly soy milk gets tainted till it looks like chocolate milk, but tastes right. Total sgd4, super affordable. Saw an elderly man enjoying a salted bun with soy milk. Quite a throwback sight, on a Thursday too. Come here for supper if you are in the vicinity and don't know where else is open.
View on GoogleThey offer an authentic Asian snack experience. It’s the kind of place where the simplicity of the menu is its greatest strength. Their You Tiao is perfectly golden and crispy on the outside with a satisfying chew. They aren’t overly greasy, making them the ideal vessel for dipping into the soy milk which is refreshing and naturally sweet with a clean, smooth finish. Their Tau Huay is silky smooth and delicate. It literally melts in my mouth. The balance between the soft curd and the light syrup is spot on. Their Mango Tofu Pudding is a vibrant, fruity contrast to the mellow soy flavors. It’s chilled, refreshing, and adds a nice tropical punch to the meal😍
View on GoogleHmmmm… I’m an Ipoh girl, so I naturally have very high standards when it comes to beancurd (aka tau fu fah) 😬 To be frank, the beancurd here was below average compared to what you can easily find in Ipoh. Once you’ve been spoiled by Ipoh’s silky-smooth tau fu fah, it’s hard not to compare!!! Surprisingly, the highlight of this meal wasn’t the beancurd, but the red bean bun… 🤪 The skin was thin and soft, while the red bean paste was smooth and not overly sweet — just the right balance. Good red bean buns are surprisingly hard to find these days, and this one really hit the spot. MUST TRY!!! So, while the tau fu fah didn’t win me over, I’d gladly come back for that red bean bun! 🤭
View on GooglePretty solid soy milk with grass jelly, and tau huay. Total came up to be $4. Cash and paynow payment. Service was just OK. Ambience is not that great, but an be charming.
