On a Saturday, I visited the Fish Soup Store at this place for lunch. I ordered the clear double fish soup and the tom yum double fish soup. The clear double fish soup was delicious. It was quite savoury, especially with the milk. The fish were thick and fresh, definitely worth the price. The instant noodles went well with the clear soup, but if you usually eat more noodles, you might want to add extra. The tom yum soup was on the sour side, but other than that, it was pretty good. I recommend this place to people who crave fish soup. It’s affordable and the quality is good.
View on GoogleAlways my go-to spot for fish soup over 15 years and still the best! I’ve been enjoying their fish soup for more than 15 years now, and it continues to be my top choice. Prices may have gone from $4 to $7 over time, but the quality and flavor have remained consistently excellent. My personal favorite is the fried fish soup with big beehoon and an extra fried egg absolutely satisfying every time. My wife always goes for the fried fish tom yum soup, which is equally delicious with a flavorful kick. Tip: Try to avoid the lunch crowd as queues can get long, and note that they’re closed on Saturdays. A true hidden gem that stands the test of time!
View on GoogleA shadow of its former self. I’ve been coming here for years, and the Tom Yum used to be tangy and delicious. The sliced fish was my favourite because it was very fresh, but after the takeover, the seafood doesn't have that same quality and freshness. The Tom Yum soup also tastes different. I also miss the old Tze Char they used to serve, they had some tasty dishes. Standards have dropped significantly under the new owners and it’s disappointing to see a favourite spot decline so much.
View on GoogleAlways loved the Tom Yum ban mian here. But today was a let down. Hearsay the business was sold. Tom Yum soup is diluted, very little meat, paid $3 for 3 clams? Found hair in my soup halfway eating it. Utterly disgusting. Please get your staff to wear her hair in a net please. Sorry but not coming anymore.
View on GoogleThe fried fish Tom Yum soup boasts a bold, tangy flavor that truly stands out. The Maggi noodle is also a standout—firm, thin, and pleasantly non-soggy. The you mian is notably hearty and satisfying. However, the fried fish falls short in crispiness, and the fried egg (additional charge $1.50) comes off as bland and unimpressive. The ice milk tea is underwhelming as well, extremely diluted. Though the prices are relatively high, the generous portion sizes make the meal feel worthwhile.
