We brought our extended family from Canada to try the Taiwanese porridge buffet, and it turned out to be a unique dining experience for them. They found the concept interesting and really enjoyed the comforting, home-style dishes. While the buffet spread isn’t extensive, it offers a good variety for a satisfying lunch. Every dish we tried was fresh and well-prepared. My favourites were the silky smooth porridge and the steamed fish, paired with the many traditional side dishes that complemented the meal perfectly. The braised items and classic Teochew accompaniments added to the authentic, nostalgic flavours. The restaurant is spacious, well air-conditioned, and has a clean, modern look after its refurbishment, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a leisurely meal with family. If you’re looking for a hearty, comforting Teochew porridge buffet rather than an overwhelming buffet spread, this is definitely worth a visit. We’ll happily bring visiting friends and family here again!

Crystal Cafe at Orchard Grand Court Hotel deserves its reputation as one of Singapore's best porridge buffets. Over the years, the quality has remained remarkably consistent, which speaks volumes about the chef's pride and dedication to their craft. What impresses me most is the attention to detail. The dishes are regularly replenished—never allowed to drop below 40%—ensuring everything tastes fresh. The daily rotating mains mean there's always something new to try, keeping repeat visits interesting. The sweet potato porridge is genuinely delicious, and the braised eggs are some of the best I've had. The selection extends nicely with cakes, fruits, and a good choice of tea and coffee. The service matches the food quality. Staff are attentive and polite, clearing plates promptly throughout the meal. You feel well looked after. My only reservation is the booking system. The two fixed sessions (5:30–7:00 PM and 7:15–8:45 PM) can be restrictive, especially on weekends when availability is tight. You sometimes need to work around their time slots rather than the other way around. It's a minor inconvenience, but worth noting if you're planning a visit. For a long-established porridge buffet with excellent standards and genuine chef pride, this is absolutely worth visiting.

Manage to walk in without any reservation on a Sunday night. Food and variety was decent, completed with free flow coffee/tea, icecream, fruits and some cakes. Favorite was the fried ngoh hiang, followed by the veggie which had grilled garlic and finally the shrimp omelette. I had expected curry chicken but turns out there wasn’t any. Price was $25++

First time here and it’s really a good buffet specialising in Taiwanese porridge. Some of the dishes are very local. Items like prawn paste chicken wings, fried mee, chicken rice and Nyonya kuehs. Overall it’s a good spread and taste wise is good. Love the porridge with all the condiments that one has them with the porridge.

What a steal ! 👏 👏 👏. Dishes were served piping hot and top up were extremely fast. Poached prawns and chicken 白斩鸡🐔 were my favorites and the chix rice Chilli was dammmm good Restaurant was clean & fully furnished, settings were like the olden days in 2000 ( not bad at all ) One thing commendable was the Staff, service of excellent was customer focus, friendly & polite.
