I recently brought a friend visiting from Manila to Coconut Club at New Bahru, and it turned out to be a wonderful dining experience. I made a reservation in advance, which was definitely helpful as there was a large group of runners dining that evening. The restaurant was buzzing with energy, creating a fun and lively atmosphere. While the big event meant service had a small hiccup here and there, the team still managed everything with warmth and professionalism. The food was outstanding and more than made up for any minor inconvenience. The Beef Cheek Rendang was incredibly tender and full of rich, comforting flavors. The Fried Eggplant and the Kueh Tee Pie was a pleasant surprise, and the Sambal Squid was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. To finish, the Coconut Cloud drink was simply unforgettable—light, refreshing, and absolutely worth ordering. One small observation is that the dining space can feel a little tight, especially for couples looking for a more intimate or romantic dinner. However, once the food starts arriving, you’ll quickly forget about the space constraints. Overall, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and experience. Thank you, Coconut Club, for a memorable evening. Keep up the great work—I can’t wait to come back!
View on GoogleGreat place to bring international guests to try out local food. Generally every dishes was surprisingly good albeit the price that you pay for compared to at a hawker center. Every dish was well executed especially for the belachan chilli and the meats (we ordered beef rendang and fried chicken). However, I find the coconut rice on the drier side and was expecting it to be more fluffy and soft. Happy hour drinks were really good, I could taste the gin in the gin tonic and it was affordable, 10 SGD per glass. Chendol dessert was great too! Would definitely come back again if I'm craving for local food nearby :)
View on GoogleFirst time in New Bahru on a weekend and decided to give the Coconut Club a try. I did a walk in for dinner it was still quite empty but was told it was fully booked. I asked for a quick meal and so they put me at the bar counter and asked if I could finish my meal in an hour and of course I could and they gave me the seat. Had a look at the menu, variety is not a lot but I already told myself am not here for the nasi lemak so I got a laksa instead. Also got a roselle honey tea and a kueh sampler. First came the drink, never tried the roselle honey combination before but it tasted good and was quite refreshing. Then came the laksa. The laksa was decent but I could no way justify for the $21 for this bowl of noodles which wasn't that mindblowing. The shock also came when the kueh sampler was served, with the small kuehs for $16 which I thought the money would be better spent in Bengawan Solo. Food was decent and nothing to shout about but the price would be something people will shout about. Was an experience but probably an expensive one. Okay but probably not a place I would visit again.
View on GoogleThe Coconut Club at River Valley elevates the humble Nasi Lemak into a truly premium experience. The space is beautifully designed—airy, tropical, and sophisticated—making it a great spot for a stylish family meal. The star is undoubtedly the coconut rice, which is incredibly fragrant and fluffy, paired with their signature Ayam Goreng Berempah. The chicken is perfectly spiced and juicy, and the sambal provides a balanced, flavorful kick. Don’t miss the Handmade Otah or the Chendol for a refreshing finish. It’s a polished, high-quality take on local comfort food that justifies the hype. If you are in the mood to splurge on beef, you will not regret it. It's super soft and moist.
View on GoogleIt’s an upscale spot, apparently the place to bring your fancy overseas friends to have a taste of Singapore. The flavors are bold and definitely on the spicier side, and dare I say reflective of the Peranakan cuisine. While yes they do deliver the premium vibe, I would reckon the authentic side of this cuisine lies elsewhere, in somewhere more homely. In terms of their nasi lemak, I probably had better elsewhere, and definitely not the best in the region.
