I've been to Sin Chao Garden in River Valley a few times now, and it has never disappointed. The food is consistently delicious, with authentic flavours and fresh ingredients. It has been enjoyable, and the quality has remained consistently good. The restaurant has a cosy and comfortable atmosphere, making it a great place for both family meals and catching up with friends. The staff are friendly, attentive, and service is efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. If you're looking for delicious food, good service, and a pleasant dining experience, I would definitely recommend giving Sin Chao Garden a try.

For this visit, we sampled: - Teochew steamed fish ($36, based on market price). Clean flavours, very authentic. The “soup” is typically slurped up too. - leek fried with tofu ($12 for a small plate). A hard-to-find Teochew dish done well here. Free but limited parking when you drive into the compound behind the restaurant.

The food here is legit authentic teo chew. Like actuslly got standards. Service here is also authentic (iykyk), so dont expect too much. You're here to eat and go. Parking is terrible!! The parking lot beside the restaurant is tinyyy. My family and I were so grumpy at the parking situation cause we basically parked like 1km away and walked over under the sun. Kinda regretted coming here cause of this. But that was until the food came.. totally flipped a switch and we were impressed. For the price youre paying, they really serve quality teo chew cuisine. So everything else can be forgiven. The leather jacket with butter gourd was a big hit for us. Followed by the oyster omlet cause the oysters were plump and fresh. I suggest you take a taxi over. Or drop off the elderly at the door while the driver goes to hunt for parking. 100% going to be coming back

Visited with a group of 7. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing due to both food quality and service. We were initially served the wrong bittergourd dish and only realised it after tasting it. The staff acknowledged the mistake and later brought the correct dish. The fish we ordered had a strong fishy smell and taste, and after everyone at the table tried it, we informed the staff that it did not seem fresh. However, we felt that our feedback was not taken seriously. When paying, we raised our concerns about the fish and the wrongly served dish. We were repeatedly asked whether we had already eaten the food. Eventually, both items were removed from the bill, which we appreciated. However, the interaction during the billing process was unpleasant. The staff member spoke in a sarcastic tone and placed the receipt on the counter in an abrupt manner, which we found discourteous. (We didn’t finish the fish btw but they insisted that we did, photo as proof) To be fair, some of the non-seafood dishes were good. However, because of the quality issues and the way feedback was handled, we do not intend to return.

The braised duck, chicken, egg and tofu were decent, though the five-spice flavour was slightly stronger than expected. The menu indicated pomfret, but the fish served was regular pomfret. We checked with the shop and were informed that they only serve regular pomfret. As such, the price felt a little on the high side.
