Finally tried San Shu Gong Private Dining at their new location. The pan-fried oyster omelette was crispy without being greasy, though there could be more oysters. The charcoal-grilled yellow roe was another standout, with a wonderful smoky aroma while retaining the natural freshness and sweetness of the crab The highlight of the night was the cai pu kway teow. It looked like such a simple dish, but the intense wok hei and depth of flavour completely stole the show. The only slight disappointment was the goose, which we felt was rather overpriced at $62 for a portion of about 10 pieces. Also, do note that some of their signature dishes need to be pre-ordered. Service was a little inconsistent. The gentleman who initially took our order wasn’t particularly attentive and even walked away before taking our rice order. Thankfully, the second staff member who attended to us completely turned the experience around. He was attentive, friendly, and provided genuinely five-star service. We were also touched by the thoughtful gesture of printing our group photo and presenting it as a birthday card. It was such a sweet surprise that made the birthday celebration even more special. Overall, despite the inconsistent service at the start, the excellent food and warm hospitality from the rest of the team made it a memorable experience. We’d be happy to return and try more of their dishes.
View on GoogleRarely do I get genuinely wowed by chinese fare, especially when we have no lack of choices for chinese restos and good zhi char shops, but Sanshugong Dining continues to impress! You can immediately tell they focus on high-quality ingredients, and every dish feels thoughtfully elevated and not just familiar. Their signature fried sea cucumber ($38++ per pax) absolutely deserves the spotlight. I’ve never had anything quite like it before. The contrast between the gelatinous interior and the crispy exterior is incredible, and the braised sauce was rich, fragrant and a perfect complement to the sea cucumber. I am not even a fan of sea cucumber and i loved this so much. We also tried a few other signatures. The typhoon shelter zucchini flowers (S$30 for 5 stalks) was a big hit at our table. The crumbs were super moreish. Even veg haters would enjoy this vegetable dish. The o luat (~$20) stood out for being uniformly crispy and refined small bites of oyster (rather than chunks). an elegant take on a classic. The cai por kway teow (~$18) had a strong wok hei that you can SMELL even before tasting it, though it may lean a bit salty for kids or older folks. The chicken and lup cheong claypot rice ($56, comfortably feeds 5) featured great quality waxed meat and was well-executed, but personally I missed the more rustic, slightly charred burnt pot presentation. SSG's version is cleaner and more polished. At this price point, i might save my money for other yummy things on the menu. The iberico sweet and sour pork (S$30++) was the only non-signature menu item we ordered, so as to cater to the more picky/conservative diners at dinner haha. it was also a very fancy guluyok dish - the pork was super tender and the pineapples/veg super fresh. I do however enjoy my caifan style guluyok as well that comes with batter. To ensure the quality of the pork shines, SSG's rendition comes without much (or any) batter coating at all. Service was fantastic throughout too! The staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to help portion the dishes individually for us, which made the whole experience feel extra thoughtful and convenient. Overall, it’s very solid Teochew-Cantonese food in a beautiful ambience without breaking the bank. Perfect for celebrations, hosting visiting friends, or bringing the older generation. This was my second visit and it didn’t disappoint—quality is still A*. The last time I dined here, the suckling pig (S$338) was mindblowingly good, i have never had such good suckling pig in my life. Unfortunately, i didn't have enough pax this time round to pre-order the suckling pig. 10/10 would recommend!!!!
View on GoogleWe had our Reunion lunch here. Best Lohei (Teochew version) tasted so far in SG. A lot of different ingredients compared to the normal but they combined very well. Also ordered a couple of Teochew favourites like the oyster omelette, prawn roll, chye por kway teow and they didn’t disappoint. Pre order their pig stomach soup which is their signature dish. Captain suggested the dou miao which was really delicious done plain. San Shu Gong have a fine dining concept and their service was outstanding.
View on GoogleOverall a very good restaurant. not incrementally better than ZYX, FLM. Thick and unctuous in sauce, I spaced out as I like my Teochew food delicately executed. didnt love it, but my Hockchew family did. Emperor chicken was very worth it: we kept digging deep into that deep brown sauce and more chicken kept coming out. We are a table of 8 borderline overweight people. This was impressive. Soup was okay - but not better than other places. I’m not sure why they asked if I wanted to take a photo. They invest in theatrics so always a win in today’s economy. The oyster omelette had good texture but didn’t have much oyster. Braised sea cucumber was goopy. Fried sea cucumber was not bad. We didn’t order fish or crab roe. So maybe that’s why I didn’t love it. Service was fine, not impeccable, but good enough. They asked if I wanted to take photos of the food but didn’t ask if I wanted water and forgot our rice.
View on GoogleRecommend by friend. Decided to give it a try. Before coming do make advance reservation this restaurant very popular as they are awarded Michelin stars for three years straight from 2023, 2024, 2025. Restaurant interior is nicely designed, warm lighting and comfy. There is also exclusive private room for each diners group to dine. Perfect for meetings/discussions or group setting. we even saw a real signed Ronaldo shirt at our rooms! SIUUU ⚽️🇵🇹 The food is very good, we order Cempedak (a must have), fry oyster omelette and kueh teow. Overall service is excellent and affordable price @$125.89 for 4pax. Would come again!
