This restaurant has been on my list for awhile and glad I finally got to try it! Went for date night and picked the Fireline menu which is a course of 7 items. Every item met the mark for me, but because enjoy prawns, naturally the Typhoon Shelter prawn dish was my favourite - super juicy and tasty! A few other notable mentions worth trying - Prawn Toast and Malt Black dessert (mind you I’m not a sweet tooth). Overall well-thought out menu and everything felt intentional. Can recommend! 😀👌
View on GoogleHad a lovely lunch at One Prawn & Co at New Bahru and tried their curated set, “The First Dip” (for 2 pax). The portion was definitely more than enough for two people. Started with two appetizers, the Bang Bang Salmon Tartare and Smoky Kombu Prawn Toast. The salmon tartare was fresh with no fishy smell, and the prawn toast was something quite unique which was a definitely a must try for something different. For mains, we had the Prawn Bisque Ramen and the Holy Halibut Burger. The ramen was a standout, a great combination of traditional prawn noodles with a rich, thick ramen style broth. If you’re a ramen lover, this is a really satisfying bowl to try. The halibut burger was also impressive, with a soft, fluffy bun and a tender fillet that came together really well. We ended with the Smoked Valrhona Caraibe Chocolate Tart and Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. Even though we were already very full from the mains, the desserts were too good to pass up. we finished everything! Overall, a great lunch experience with creative dishes, generous portions, and flavours that feel both familiar and unique. Definitely worth visiting if you’re around New Bahru.
View on GoogleMust try: prawn toast, thunder style prawns Can skip: scallop hor fun (a very confusing dish), halibut burger (fish is very moist and fresh, but overall tasted like any other fish burger) 50/50: carrot cake (all three main ingredients are prepared separately and layered on top of each other - could well be three different dishes on their own, don’t see nor taste the harmony in this one dish) Atmosphere here is perfect for dates or even group catch ups. Particularly enjoyed the counter seats as you get to watch the chefs in action. Overall, good experience!
View on GoogleThe dishes felt creative without being overly complicated, and every course had a good balance of flavours and textures. For the Hamachi Tartare, the hamachi was fresh and light, while the cracker added a nice crunch that paired really well with the tartare. The smoky flavour of the Prawn Toast came through nicely and every bite had a strong prawn taste that really popped. The Umami Steak was cooked well and full of flavour. It was tender, juicy, and had a rich savoury taste that made it easy to keep going back for more. The creamy burrata worked surprisingly well with the smoky beans One of my favourite dishes of the night were the “Typhoon Shelter “ Prawns. The sauce was absolutely amazing and complemented the prawn perfectly. The prawn itself was tender and incredibly easy to bite into. The hor fun was flavourful, and the scallops were juicy and cooked just right, adding a nice sweetness to the dish. For the Malt Black Dessert, the sourdough ice cream was smooth and creamy, melting in the mouth with a subtle tang that made it really enjoyable without being too sweet.
View on GoogleHad such an amazing dinner! We tried the Fireline set menu and every dish was phenomenal. The burrata and smoked beans sounds simple but it blew my mind. The beans had an amazing smokey aroma which went so well with the creamy burrata, savoury crunchy white bait bits and slightly spicy chili oil, perfection! The typhoon shelter prawn was juicy, fresh and once again very well smoked. Each dish was a beautiful harmony of smokey favours which is what this restaurant does so well! Even the desserts are so well crafted. All the ice creams are handmade in house.
