#2nd review# (a day later) I was unaware that the char siu with mantou is exclusively offered on the dinner menu. I prefer the noodle over the mantou. The 48-hour dry-aged roast duck pairs well with the plum sauce. My final verdict is to stick with the Signature Wood-Fire Dual Pork Noodles. #1st review# While I haven't tried the original outlet, I did manage to sample the Signature Wood-Fire Dual Pork Noodles. I thoroughly enjoyed the dish. The noodles had great texture and flavour, while both the pork jowl (char siu) and the crispy pork belly literally melted in my mouth. They serve it with a lime, which adds a welcome hit of acidity to balance out the rich fats. Just note that the char siu is not heavily caramelized, which is not ideal for those who prefer sweeter char siu. To put this into perspective, I enjoyed it despite having eaten a full burger immediately before this. Heck, a stranger sitting near me even gave me a enthusiastic thumbs-up to assure me how good the noodles were before my dish even arrived. One small note: The char siu with mantou featured on their wall print is unfortunately not available on the menu.
View on GoogleOMG! This place is a GEM! Absolutely delicious. So flavorful and feeling! But don’t go late as the best dishes get sold out quickly! A must try in New Bahru
View on GoogleI was super excited to hear Laifaba was opening at New Bahru as I don’t have to travel all the way to Bukit Batok! The new location feels like a slightly upscale food court with upbeat energy, yet it's comfortable enough for good conversation. We shared the Duo Plate featuring the wood-fired pork jowl and roasted pork, served with fluffy buns. The pork jowl was tender, smoky, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. I usually avoid fatty bits, but their roasted pork has the right fat to meat ratio with the right crisp. Stuffing them into the buns with the sauce was a lovely combination. For the mains, we had their signature egg noodles with pork lards!! Traditional flavors with a modern twist. A very enjoyable dinner and a great addition to the neighborhood. Will definitely be back!
View on GoogleWow! They are now available in the Central! The friendly staff helped me to navigate through the kiosk app to place my order. As it's located within a foodcourt, it's a bit noisy during peak hours. But I don't mind since my favourite char siew noodles is as good as what they offer in the flagship outlet at Bukit Batok. Was there with my family and we got to try different menu selections, some of which are exclusive to this outlet. A go-to destination for good char siew and roasted pork!!!
View on GoogleThis hipster roasted meat restaurant has finally relocated to a more central location! It’s situated on the second floor of the factory wing of the new Bahru building. The ambiance is fantastic, with a rating of 9/10. We visited on a weekday lunch day, and unfortunately, the chicken was sold out by 1 p.m.! Despite the higher price tag, the roasted meat and char siew were decent. I’m keen to try their dinner menu, which offers a wider variety of dishes.
