Tucked in a corner of the New Bahru Food Arena, Kulon Bakmi serves up authentic Indonesian-style bakmi in a simple and comforting format. Tried the Bakmi Katsu — seasoned Indonesian-style dry noodles served with fried chicken thigh and blanched bok choy. The noodles were the highlight for me. That savoury dry noodle sauce somehow reminded me of an elevated, freshly made version of Indomie — familiar, comforting and incredibly easy to eat. The fried chicken thigh was nicely crispy too, adding a satisfying contrast to the springy noodles. I also liked that the noodle portion wasn’t overly large, making it a satisfying meal without feeling too heavy. Simple Indonesian comfort food that hits the spot.
View on Googlei was craving bakmi and had high expectations after seeing the menu & photos. Unfortunately, the noodle texture was dissapointing for my personal preference. But the meat n toppings were good. It was a decent meal, though the noodle could be improved.
View on GoogleNice authentic bakmi/minced meat noodle in Indonesian. Can be spicy for some but the fragrance of spices and chilis so tempting.a must try is Green Chili Bakmi! Make sure to request for less spicy if this is your first time. Noodle is chewy too. They do have a main branch at Bali Lane Bugis. Overall, new bahru food court has few good options for nice meal.
View on GoogleDidn’t know a simple food can taste soooo good. Friendly staff feels like family. Always smiley and welcoming. 5 star quality.
View on GoogleGreat food and even greater people. Friendly as always, serving with a smile. The satay was something uniquely different! Went over to New Bahru during the weekend to takeaway the food. You gotta try it if you visit.
