This restaurant is an old school institution, doing a good job in preserving the nostalgic elements. Unfortunately, the food standard is shockingly poor now. Their claypot dishes, ironically their signature, are watery and tasteless. Only the paper chicken is worth returning for.

Taste of the food is lacking after two months of closure. Had been dining here since 2011. Pot chicken is not as fragrant as before. Soup stock has become diluted. Fried pork ribs are so dry and not caramelized Fried big prawn in black sauce has no sauce at all.

Paper wrapped ckn is fatty and well penetrated by sweet sauce, it's very good plus it's boneless. The rest of the dishes were decent too

The pork ribs, noodles, and Malay Kangkong are must-tries. It's one of the better ones I tried amongThe the old school restaurant. fried rice was a bit too salty, and I tasted some "salt" on my first bite, like it wasn't fried thoroughly. The 红烧豆腐 was underwhelming, and the roast pork was soggy; for $20 (S) it could be served in a more appealing setting. I believe corkage is free, which is a plus. Their alcohol selection isn't very tempting—$7 for a can and $14 for a bottle of Tiger, and they only offer Tiger. The service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant has a very "traditional” vibe and isn't crowded due to its location. It would be helpful if they offered promotions or set meals to attract customers back or introduced other deals to increase repeat visits.

Old school heritage resto, lurved it! Its nondescript way out location actually added to its charm. The place was pretty much full on a Tuesday night for dinner. Quite a few elderly customers there, probably long time patrons. The staff (or owners) were elderly too, lovely folks. Best thing is that the food was great too. We had the obligatory paper-wrapped chicken pieces, and claypot liver. The fu yu kangkong was good too. My party of 4 (middle-aged picky women eaters) all lurved it. We will be back for sure. There is a public carpark just behind the row of shophouses that the resto is at.
