I stopped by Jia Xiang Sarawak Kuching Kolo Mee at Alexandra and enjoyed a satisfying bowl of Sarawak-style noodles. The kolo mee had a pleasant springy texture and was nicely coated with savoury seasoning without being overly oily. The highlight for me was the generous serving of pork – the char siew was flavourful with a good balance of lean meat and fat, while the minced pork added extra richness to every bite The accompanying soup was light and comforting, with dumplings and prawns, making for a well-rounded meal. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of seating and a relaxed atmosphere compared to a typical food court stall The food was tasty and hit the spot when craving Sarawak kolo mee. While it may not be the most memorable bowl I’ve ever had, the quality is consistently good, portions are reasonable, and the pork toppings are definitely worth trying
View on GoogleQuite expensive for the portion - but the taste is good. The default is mee kia so if you prefer mee pok, must let them know. The curry chicken mee is very spicy, but really good! :) the smoked duck is interesting too. It is not fully packed for weekday lunch, making the environment quite relaxed.
View on GoogleOther Sarawak Kolo Mee stores do not hold a candle to Jia Xiang Kolo mee. After the store in Vivocity closed down, we came here as an alternative, and the quality of noodles is still considerably the best. Good texture and flavour, highly recommend.
View on GoogleWhile I lack a true Kuching kolo mee reference, comparing this stall to other wanton noodle options in Singapore, it unfortunately falls far short. I ordered the signature kolo mee with an extra side of mushroom lettuce, and the result tasted remarkably similar to something I could easily whip up at home. Beyond the taste, the noodles are quite pricey, the ventilation in the space is poor, and the lunch crowd makes it a challenging spot to dine at.
View on GoogleI like their Jia Xiang kolo noodle, although they are a bit pricey. The noodle is bouncy, and mixed it with the minced meat oily sauce just smell so good and yummy. Their fish soup also nice, and again pricey, eat once in a while is okay. Ordered a plate of vegetable as side dish this time, a bit tasteless, something can skip..
