Iris Cafe is a quiet Korean restaurant in one-north with an extensive menu, offering both traditional and fusion Korean dishes, alongside desserts and coffee. We visited on a Saturday and it was very peaceful. They also have a small Korean-style seating area that makes the space feel cozy and authentic. We tried the Pork Soup & Rice ($17.90) and Soft Tofu Stew with Rice Ball ($16.90). The pork soup was the standout and exceeded our expectations. The broth was deeply savoury and well-seasoned, filled with thin slices of charred pork belly, pork intestines, glass noodles, and rice. Really delicious and comforting and definitely would return for this. The sundubu jjigae was decent, though it leaned more tomato-ey and reminded us a little of budae jjigae. It came packed with soft tofu and a perfectly runny egg, with a nice balance of spice and saltiness. Between the two dishes, we’d definitely preferred the pork soup though. We also tried the Butter Tteok ($3.90). It wasn’t quite what we expected, as we were anticipating a crispy exterior with a chewy centre. Instead, it was more like a block of soft, sticky nian gao throughout. Not our favourite, but the presentation was adorable - served on a miniature table that gave it a slightly royal feel. 📸 For more food reviews, check out @hangry.potatoo on instagram.

This bulgogi sandwich is amazing! The bread is perfectly toasted and crispy on the outside but soft inside. The bulgogi beef is generously filled, tender, and packed with that classic sweet-savory flavor. Melted cheese adds a rich, creamy touch that ties everything together. Served with a fresh side salad and sun-dried tomatoes, it balances the meal perfectly and cuts through the richness. A hearty, comforting sandwich that hits the spot. 10/10, would come back for it!

A hidden gem. Peaceful and spacious with unique food offering and warm service. I really enjoyed the fusion option of having the typical Western brunch with kimchi pancake. All the food and beverage tasted thoughtfully prepared. Delightful surprise of complimentary cake as we visited on V-day. My only gripe is it’s warm, which made the dining experience rather uncomfortable. I’m not sure if there’s problem with the air conditioner. If this is fixed, I would be back more frequently :)

The place has a really fresh vibe, and the food (including the little side dishes) is super tasty. Portions are alright.. Staff are super nice and approachable. At first I thought the soup wasn’t hot enough, but turns out the owner does it on purpose since most of the nearby crowd are office workers grabbing a quick lunch, so it’s easier to eat fast. Bonus points: when it was my colleague’s birthday, they even gave us free coffee. Love that!
