It was a fast screening prep process and popping over to NUH is not a regular occurrence. Let's hope not. I had not had breakfast after the necessary fasting and restrain so I wanted a really nice meal treat. Then I remembered the amazing delicious fresh springy handmade balls from this lil stall at Red Spot the foodcourt and I just had to have it. So glad I did. Although this is like only my forth or fifth time eating it — it is best eaten and experienced freshly made and not packed — it is definitely in my list of must haves. I mean the freshly made noodles alone are tasty and so sedap on its own. They are springy dancing with that hand touch and with the spicy marination — told her ya go for the normal spice but be gentle with hopeless spice-challenged wussy ones like me — just nice cleverly lifted with meat fat but in a halal manner that I can happily tuck into them anytime. Now let's talk about their signature or special fish & fish mix balls. They are incredibly heavenly awesome. While the fish balls are freshly firm they are also au naturel in taste and are actually rather light as they slide when bitten. I had to add extra fish cake sliced as their hand prepared ones are stupendously delish. From texture to touch to taste they tick all the boxes of what amazing fish-based protein lovingly shaped ought to be. And since it comes with spinach this man who must have greens with his meal is a happy camper. In short, Red Spot's handmade noodles offerings are spectacularly stellar and if you want our own local umami delight then this is it. And the best part for us is it is halal! Go tuck in and experience how brilliantly soulfull it is to eat these. It's in a foodcourt so bear with it. Avoid the mad lunch and dinner crunch when it's really packed but trust me it's worth travelling to a hospital for. And not for cause for worry :)

View on GoogleI had a very unpleasant experience at this ban mian stall at The Red Spot Foodcourt, NUH Medical Centre. When I approached the stall, I personally observed the stall operator picking her nose. She stopped when she noticed me, wiped her hands on her shirt, and then immediately spoke to me to take my order — without washing her hands. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable and concerned about hygiene, especially in a medical centre setting where cleanliness should be a top priority. I was so disgusted that I decided to walk away without ordering. Food handling hygiene is very important, and I hope the management will look into this seriously.
