Good place to visit, reminds public of the sacrifice of Malay Regiment during WWII and their brave stories. Friendly and attentive staff at front reception. Thanks Ms. Melinda for her details explaination and suggestions to walk through canopy walk at Kent Ridge Park. Had a great and enjoyable day there!
View on GoogleReflections at Bukit Chandu may be small, but it delivers a deeply moving and thoughtfully curated experience. The first floor focuses on the WWII Malay Regiment, telling the story of bravery and sacrifice at Pasir Panjang through concise panels, artefacts and immersive displays. The narrative is powerful despite the compact space — you really feel the weight of history here The second floor shifts to the opium industry in Singapore (fittingly, “chandu” means opium in Malay), exploring a lesser-known but significant chapter of our past. The exhibits are clear and well-presented, offering insight into how opium shaped the Straits Settlements’ economy and society I was lucky to visit on the last day of a drop-in activity for the “Battle for Singapore 2026” programme — a nice bonus that added an interactive touch to the visit. Staff were friendly and helpful (they did mention no videos allowed inside, so take note), and the whole museum is well-maintained and thoughtfully designed
View on GoogleThe bungalow was close to point 226, the site of Malay Regiment's last stand against Japanese Army on 14 Feb 1942. the gallery pay homage to the courage and sacrifices during the WW2. Bukit Chandu is Opium Hill in Malay. There are many more stories of Singapore history hidden in this part of Singapore.
View on GoogleLearn a part of Singapore history during the WW2, how the soldiers protect and fight toward the end. The place was well managed and well maintained. A good place to view.
View on GoogleSmall colonial style house on top of a hill, converted to museum dedicated to the royal malay army and their fight with invading japanese soldiers during the WW2. Nicely curated historical items, especially guns used during that time. The moment for me was standing in a room where the names of all soldiers perished are written on the wall, with military horn playing in the background. 2nd floor has a small exhibition on Chandu - opium. Not a big place overall, we spent about 30mins there. Pro-tip: if you are driving, drive all the way up till carpark C, save you some walking.
