A great spot for a comforting and satisfying bowl of udon. Conveniently located at Geneo, the restaurant offers a casual and welcoming environment that is suitable for a quick meal or a relaxed dining experience. The udon noodles are freshly prepared with a good texture and bite, and the broth is flavourful without being overly heavy. The menu offers a variety of options, allowing diners to choose according to their preferences, whether they prefer something light or more substantial. Portions are generous, and the ingredients are fresh. The dishes are served promptly, making it a good option for those looking for a quick and reliable meal. Service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable during our visit. Overall, Idaten Udon delivers a satisfying udon experience with good quality food and reasonable value for money. A worthwhile choice for udon lovers and anyone looking for a hearty Japanese meal.

Enjoyed a satisfying lunch at IDATEN UDON at Geneo, Science Park. We had the Niku Udon (beef) and Ontama Bukkake Udon, along with Tempura Jumbo Prawns, Kakiage, Jumbo Nori, and Crispy Chicken. The udon noodles had a nice chewy texture, and the beef in the Niku Udon was tender and flavourful. The Ontama Bukkake Udon was refreshing, with the soft egg adding a rich and creamy touch. One highlight was the self-service condiment and garnish station. There was a generous selection of crispy flakes, seaweed, garlic, chilli, chilli powder, and various sauces including teriyaki, tempura, and soba sauces. It allowed us to customise the flavours to our liking and added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. The tempura items were crispy and well-fried, particularly the jumbo prawns and kakiage, while the crispy chicken was juicy and satisfying. Overall, a good casual Japanese dining option in Science Park, offering tasty udon, quality fried sides, and plenty of ways to personalise your meal.

For casual dining, it stands out because its expansive tempura selection transforms a simple bowl of noodles into a customizable feast. Enjoyed the pleasant dining environment as well.

A nice Japanese udon and soba place with a familiar self-service style, similar to Marugame or Hanamaru. We tried the carbonara mentaiko udon and bukkake soba. The soba noodles were a slightly flat type, and both dishes were tasty. I also enjoyed being able to add my own condiments. Overall, it was a satisfying and casual Japanese meal.

Its Japanese fast food for Sunday family lunch today. First visit for me personally and the portion is good and sufficient for me -regular bowl of mentaiko Chicken don plus an onsen egg, is yummy. The rest of the family had noodles and the kids orders a combination of sides - all fried stuff - tempura style.
