Visited 10 June 2023 8.30 to 9.30 Mediocre Food and Uncomfortable Atmosphere My experience at Sens Dining was quite disappointing overall. The exterior of the restaurant initially caught my attention, prompting me to try their Japanese cuisine. However, the actual dining experience fell short of my expectations. First and foremost, the food was just mediocre. Considering the promising appearance of the establishment, I was hopeful for a delightful culinary experience. Unfortunately, the dishes I tried failed to impress. The flavors were average at best, lacking the depth and authenticity I anticipated from a Japanese restaurant. Moreover, the seating arrangement on the second level left me feeling uncomfortable. The speakers on this level were blasting at an uncomfortably high volume, making it difficult to have a conversation with my dining companions. The excessive noise detracted from the overall dining ambiance and made it challenging to enjoy the meal peacefully. Additionally, I found that the price of the food did not align with the quality offered. The cost of the dishes seemed higher than what would be justified based on the taste and presentation. I expected a better balance between the price and the quality of the food. In conclusion, while the exterior of Sens Dining may be eye-catching, the overall dining experience fell short of expectations. The food was mediocre, the uncomfortable noise level on the second floor was bothersome, and the price did not match the quality of the dishes. I would recommend exploring other Japanese dining options in the area for a more satisfying culinary experience.
View on GoogleSens dining offers a diverse range of Japanese specialties, and you're sure to find something you love. We tried the Hokkaido treasure. The Uni was the stand-out with its rich umami flavor. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a clean decor. Beer, starting at just $5 per pint, was a steal too. While Holland Village has many Japanese restaurants to choose from, this one is definitely one of my favorites.
View on GoogleA small but stylish Japanese restaurant serving reliable, authentic Japanese fare. Garlic fried rice was fragrant with flavorful garlic chips. Saba fish was rich in both texture and flavor. We were pleasantly surprised by the pork belly enoki, which had a whisky-infused sauce that's delightful on the palate. A little expensive but not surprising.
View on GoogleGreat experience, good ambience, good culinary and fair price. Would have given 4 stars if they have quoted me on the price if the "seasonal" fish. The chawanmushi is exceptional and chef also try their best to accommodate my request for more char on the lamb.
View on GoogleTried the lunch set with chicken katsu. The chawamushi is good, fresh and smooth. Taste sweet. The chicken katsu is very fried. Tender but not so juicy. The crust is crispy and not heavy. The soup comes with it has no taste at all. The beef taco is quite normal. The skin is the hard and crispy type. Not taste. Stewed beef quantity is too little. Service is good as staff always help to refill the green tea.
