I recently visited Paradise Classic at One Holland Village and took advantage of their tea break special, which was excellent value for money. The set allowed me to enjoy a Beef Hor Fun together with a serving of Three-Egg Spinach at a very reasonable price, making it a great option for an afternoon meal. The standout dish was undoubtedly the Beef Hor Fun. The noodles had fantastic wok hei, giving them that signature smoky aroma and flavour that only comes from a skilled chef. The beef was tender, the gravy was silky and well-seasoned, and every bite was satisfying. It’s one of the better versions I’ve had in Singapore. The Three-Egg Spinach, however, was a little underwhelming. While the vegetables were fresh and cooked well, the dish lacked the rich savoury flavour I was expecting. The salted egg, century egg and regular egg combination didn’t quite come together, leaving it tasting rather mild and in need of a stronger seasoning. Overall, I still enjoyed my visit. The tea break promotion offers fantastic value, the restaurant was comfortable, and the service was efficient. If you’re looking for a satisfying meal without spending too much, the Beef Hor Fun alone is worth ordering. I’d happily return to explore more items on the menu.
View on GoogleCame down to celebrate a birthday, making use of the 32% voucher. Reservation on the app was fuss free, and food came quickly. Crispy Prawn Roll ($13.30) - Meaty, crispy, and we appreciated the bite-sized portions. Though I would appreciate some crunch from carrots or water chestnuts. Braised Tofu and Prawn ($17.80) - Tofu was firm, prawns were crisp, and sauce was delicious. Would've gone great with rice. Poached Chinese Spinach ($16.80) - Delicious, but the taste of the salted egg and century egg was slightly muted. Prawn Broth Beehoon ($14.30) - Big-sized prawns, but the taste was slightly lacking. Though it was much better after reheating the leftovers the next day for some reason. Sliced Beef Horfun ($13.30) - pretty normal and the beef was overly chewy. Can skip this. Lemongrass Jelly ($3.90) and Mango Sago ($5.90) - Decent desserts but you'll find better elsewhere. Overall, enjoyed the meal especially with the multitude of Paradise vouchers given.
View on GoogleHad a gathering with ex-colleagues here for dinner at the recommendation. Now I have had a pretty good impression of Paradise Seafood since their humble beginnings at Defu, the brand has since branched out in all directions of chinese cuisine. To me ot has always been a cut above your standard Zichar stall at the coffeeshop. Scanning through the menu, I noted just about everything was nearly twice the price of their equivalent from the kopitiam. But was it twice as good? Here's the rundown of what we ordered. Sweet and sour pork, sambal kangkong, seafood fried rice, seafood braised beehoon and fried eggs with bitter gourd. The only reasonably good dish here was the sweet and sour pork, the sauce, the batter coated texture and the pork were on point. However, from here on out everything just devolved into mediocrity. The sambal kangkong tasted just like any decent Zichar stall could whip out, the two carb dishes were actually kind of bland. The seafood was fresh, the broth in the beehoon was seafood but it lacked any form of unami, same for the fried rice. The bitter gourd eggs had the same fate, in fact I think its on the same level as Cai Fan stalls. Pretty tasteless with zero effort. There were three of us and we each paid $32. Was it worth it? Definitely not. I can understand why there was no queue now despite OHV being an extremely popular dining venue. You are better off eating at your favourite Zichar stall unless the need for air-conditioning is that important, otherwise this would warrant a no go from me.
View on GoogleDelicious food with nice atmosphere. I recommend the seafood mee goreng, sweet and sour pork, beef hor fun and san lou mee fen for first time comers
View on GoogleWe wanted to order the stewed pork belly with taro. We enquired about it and was not informed anything we decided to order it then was informed that it is not available today. The waiter should have informed us in advance when we enquired. Also when we ask for service, the less experienced staff came to attend to us and she couldnt understand any of our questions. The more experienced staff was called over, but she quickly left. every time we called her over she quickly left. She keep serving the newcomers and serving them a seat. She should answer all our questions in order before leaving. If not she keep leaving and we keep calling her back and waiting for her to come, which delayed our eating time, and we still have to wait for cooking time. Overall an abysmal experience.
