Had an awesome birthday celebration with old friends and bosses here on 17/6. Food -4/5 The dishes that came were big, more than enough for everyone. Taste wise it’s also pretty decent. The 2 dishes that stood out was the fish and the pencai was amazing. Service - 5/5 The service staff was attentive and accommodating. They took the effort to dress up the room for our birthday celebrations. Ambience -3/5 The place sorely needs a refresh as everything is dated and a little shabby. Conclusion Pricing wise may not be the best ($100+/pax), but the service does stand out and would come back again as a celebration venue.

The server moved quickly to bring our dishes. The food smelled great as it hit the table. The poon choy was a standout with its rich flavors and varied textures. The restaurant felt comfortable, and the noise level was just right for chatting. A staff member noticed when my water was low and refilled it without being asked. The lovely staff made the experience warm and welcoming.

We had a pre reservation for a a party of 6 for my dad’s birthday. If you are into old school nostalgic decor canto restaurant, you would love the atmosphere there. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Especially the Vietnam male staff who displayed excellence in his service🙏🏻 many thanks As for food, I did not enjoy all the dishes. Dishes that did well were: Resin & broccoli, Plum sauce duck, and pumpkin dong po rou (pork). The 南乳 vegetarian claypot was disappointing as the beancurd skin did not absorb the gravy well and the taste of the dish was bland and weird (could try using vegetarian oyster sauce). The Peking duck could be done better in terms of the meat - as we thought when they said “salt and pepper”, it was stir fried but ended up the the duck was chopped into bits (with bones) coated w flour and deep fried. Could be better communicated I guessed. I am not sure if I would visit again but the service was really heart warming and the efforts they made to add decor to my dad’s bday cake was impressive….

Attended the Teochew Huay Kuan dinner on 18th Apr and the food was really tasty (with quite a few unique dishes), the waitress was constantly refilling our glasses, and there was also a karaoke system!

We read the good reviews and made our way across the road from our hotel. It was disconcerting that no one else was in the restaurant on a Saturday night. A group did come in for the private dining room. Despite the unusual start, the staff were lovely and helpful. The food was delicious. We had half roast duck, some off menu ribs, prawn vermicelli wit pickled chilli, vegetables and mushroom. We enjoyed the juice at the end to help with our digestion. Still empty when we left about 2 hours later. Still unsure why!
