People’s Park Food Centre is a great place to eat if you want proper local Singapore hawker food without the tourist prices. It has a real local feel, busy but relaxed, with plenty of different stalls to choose from. I tried the beef noodles with egg from Zhen Wei Noodles and it was very good. The beef was tasty, the noodles had a nice sauce, and the portion was good value for the price. This is not a fancy place, but that’s what makes it good. Simple, affordable, local food with a good atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you’re around Chinatown and want something more authentic than the tourist spots.

It’s great. Awesome food for a good price. Very little tourists here. Mostly Chinese food options. Can eat here for breakfast/lunch/dinner/late night snack. Will be appreciated if you speak a bit of Mandarin, but you will survive without. Only pay with cash, though there are some ATMs in the center if needed.

I love these type of food markets. There are dozens of food vendors offering different varieties of delicious cooked food. The flavors are incredible. Have a look at some of the dishes I got. There are hundreds of seats and tables. The meals are relatively cheap. My favorite is the chilli chicken with peanuts and the spicy beans.

People’s Park Food Centre A beloved hawker centre among locals in Singapore, People’s Park Food Centre offers an unfiltered taste of everyday Singaporean food culture. Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Closed: Mondays There is no air conditioning, and most stalls operate on a cash only basis, with credit cards generally not accepted. What it lacks in comfort, however, it more than compensates for in authenticity. This is a place where locals eat, linger, and return repeatedly an excellent stop for travelers seeking a genuine, no-frills culinary experience. Highly recommended.
