Xie Lao Song 蟹老宋
新加坡蟹老宋 was established in 2010, specializing in fragrant spicy crab and mala crayfish stir-fried with a secret spicy sauce. In 2015, we introduced Peking duck, which has been warmly received by diners. We welcome your visit!

Ordered egg fried rice and crab meat w egg fried rice. And it was $4.90 more with less than a teaspoon crab. Ordered spring rolls, they served others and said no more spring rolls and walked away. Never apologize or intro what dish is that.
View on GoogleI recently dined at Xie Lao Song and had a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a pleasant meal with family or friends. The service was generally good, with staff who were polite and attentive, although there were a few times when we had to wait a bit longer than expected for assistance. However, the friendly demeanor of the staff made up for it. The highlight of our visit was definitely the food. We tried several dishes, with the crab being the star of the meal. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Chinese dishes, ensuring there’s something for everyone. We also appreciated the generous portion sizes, which made for a satisfying meal. Overall, Xie Lao Song is a great place to enjoy quality Chinese cuisine in Singapore. While there were a few minor service delays, the excellent food and welcoming ambiance more than made up for it.
View on GoogleMy friends and I (a group of 12) booked a private room here for our Chinese New Year gathering. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed with both the food and service. Food: The food wasn’t bad, but it was just average, especially considering the price. The portions felt quite small. We had to meet a minimum spend of $500 for the private room, which we easily hit with our order. One main issue was the Peking duck (we ordered the large). When it was served, only the skin with pancakes, scallions, cucumber, and sauces were provided. We assumed the rest of the duck meat would follow. When one of my friends asked about it, the waitress said the duck had already been served. Later, when another friend asked again, she asked whether we wanted the rest of the duck prepared as soup or stir-fried. When the “rest of the duck” eventually came, it was mostly bones with very little meat. We were genuinely confused about where the remaining meat had gone. Service: We weren’t expecting luxury service, but this was below decent standards in my opinion. My friend had to ask three times for chili, and it was only brought out when we were almost done eating. There was no call button in the private room (which we did not mind), so we waited patiently to request items when staff came in to serve dishes. However, there was no initiative to refill our tea. We were initially given two small teapots, which later became one small teapot shared among 12 people. We constantly had to ask for refills. We also ordered yusheng for the celebration. It is understandable if the restaurant do not assist with preparing the lo hei, but the waitress was impatient and rude and said she was not local and didn't know our Yusheng Culture. (The yusheng was not really nice as well) But throughout the dinner service, the waitress seem reluctant and unenthusiastic to our simple requests such as topping up the tea and clearing the empty plates. And without care she would even clear the plates that still had dishes. She only stopped clearing the plate with the fish on it after we told her. Karaoke system: The private room came with karaoke, but the sound system wasn’t great. The music was too soft, the microphones were too loud, and adjusting the levels didn’t help much. The karaoke system also didn’t seem updated with newer music (but we were alright with singing and listening to older music, it was more of the sound system we had trouble with). The only saving grace was that the room itself was clean and nicely maintained. Overall, it wasn’t a great experience, and unfortunately, we would not return.
View on GoogleGreat go-to place for Peiking Duck and Mala Mini Lobsters at affordable prices. The steamed dumplings, tomato eggs, spicy fried chicken cubes, century eggs with tofu and sour & spicy potato shreds are another must order. Best go with some cool beer. Place is clean and well ventilated and service is also prompt and polite. Good choice to chill with friends over nice food, drinks and karaoke.
View on GoogleNever eat at such a place again... seriously the service sucks, don't understand how they can operate and survive like this... First of all; 1)serve yourself with cutlery... and drinks with glasses, yet they charge you service charges 2) the food seriously cannot make it..😮💨😓..ordered this; a)酸辣汤-bland water with chilli oil, tasteless b) mala 水煮鱼- very cold, like eating a cold dish. C)炒饭- peas not cooked, serving small and cold. Luckily never ordered more .. never come again😮💨😮💨🤦♂️ don't waste money.. with $70 plus I can eat better ones at other places
