This place definitely deserves a higher rating. Not many restaurants do Tsukemen and Torasho did it well. The udon-like thick noodles were cooked to perfect softness, and the thick Tsukedare was so delicious. They had a set lunch promo ongoing, I think it is about $69 for 2 bowls of ramen (you can choose from an option of 3 types), a gyoza, sweet corn and sweet potatoes side. While the gyoza was average, the corn and sweet potato were bomb! Wish we ordered more of it. The deco of the restaurant is very izakaya, we chose the bar counter seat and just watched the chefs in action. Overall, the restaurant gave me a good vibe. Will come back for thr Tsukemen.

Delightful find if you're craving very flavourful tsukemen with deep umami. Narutomaki was very unique (pig-shaped) and the nori had their logo on it which was cool. The bonito taste for the tsuke (dipping broth for noodles) was very strong but paired perfectly with the noodles. The soup-based tonkotsu ramen were also good enough to rival Ippudo. Price-wise this place would be considered ok with the signature tsukemen lunch set starting at $22 ($26+ after taxes), which includes green tea and a side (e.g. 3-piece gyoza). However, expect to spend at least $18 before tax even if you purchase their cheapest ramen ala carte. Service also leaves much to be desired as the waitresses were quite slow to respond and didn't seem very friendly (made us feel they weren't that keen to have customers). Our six seater table had only 2 serviettes but when we asked for more, they only gave 2 more and looked like this request was a major annoyance. Last night's order for our table was also not removed from their ordering system so we got a rude shock when ordering as the bill was over $200 after just ordering 1 lunch set. The staff looked annoyed when we questioned them on this, and answered quite rudely, which spoilt the ambience. In the end they just said they couldn't see this in their own system and we left it at that since there was no way to clear the order out of our interface. TLDR: Overall, food was good but hospitality was sorely missing. The staff can be trained better, though kudos to the chef since he was skilled, quite jovial and he alone thanked us on our way out.

Ramen 2/5, toooooooo salty and oily, had to add ice water to make it less salty. Gyoza 3/5 standard. Sweet potato 3/5, as expected. Wagyu fat corn 4/5, recommended. Peach Oolong and Tekkannon Oolong tea, 1/5, plain tea no flavour at all tastes same. Service 3/5, with this price of food and service fee, no apron provided. Atmosphere 5/5, nice and chill place.

A wonderful place to hang out and chill with your peers. Just a gentle warning that the prices might unintentionally add up to sky high as the cocktails and Izakaya bites/Ramen was delicious. Highly recommended to come down try. 🙂

The Tonkatsu Ramen is absolutely flavourful, and the aftertaste doesn’t leave you thirst for water. My friend and I have additional order of Claypot Rice with pork and unagi. The rice exceptionally good and the meat was well cooked to the correct doneness.
