I wanted to share my recent experience with The Singapore Mint. After emailing the sales staff, I visited the shop to register as a member, it’s still quite a manual process, as there’s no online application yet. I decided to go for Platinum membership and am now waiting abt two weeks for my GIRO account to be activated. Since I was heading overseas in dec, I placed a pre-order in advance. The shop sent me two collection letters, and even though one stated that collection starts from 7 Jan onward, they were flexible enough to let me collect earlier. What really stood out was the helpfulness of the staff, they were patient and friendly throughout the process. While some steps are still a bit old-fashioned, the experience is definitely worth it. On top of that, there’s currently a Lunar Fair at Chinatown Point, which is very festive. There are lots of horse-themed items, event-exclusive collectibles, and small freebies like angpows and gold plates. If you pay via PayNow, you even get an extra gift. It’s really worth dropping by.
View on GoogleHad a pleasant experience at the outlet at Chinatown point. Served by Darien. Very friendly and helpful staff. Patient in answering my queries and his warm smile really made me feel welcomed at the shop.
View on GoogleMs Aishimah (hope I spell her name correct) is very friendly. She explained in detail what I bought and even reminded me to check before signing off. Very good service.
View on GooglePoor unpleasant customer service. We bought $1900 + worth of coins so we got some free vouchers . When I asked what are the terms and conditions, staff just pointed to some poster and told me “read this “. He did not bother to explain anything . He had the nerve to make an annoyed and impatient sound when I was at the cashier counter and changed my mind to buy lesser when I realize I didn’t understand the term and condition well .
View on Google0 star for staff attitude. This middle-aged Chinese lady with greying roots and bleached hair was really horrible and unhelpful. Nicely asked what material a certain coin was made of, she says "this is worthless, just a metal base, but if no money to buy silver coin can consider this one." During payment, she demanded that I hand over my physical card and asked me if my credit limit has exceeded in front of the whole shop because apparently the signal being too slow to process my Paywave is my issue? Ridiculous.
