Food was good, reasonably priced, and came with complimentary drinks (non-alcoholic), banchan, kimchi fried rice, and steamed egg. We were seated quickly and the food arrived fast. Unfortunately, the service was a letdown. The restaurant seemed severely understaffed. We waited a long time for someone to turn on the gas grill and were left hanging with no explanation. In the end, we had to grill the meat ourselves because we were hungry. Staff were actively helping other tables grill their meat, so we naturally expected the same level of service. A lady who appeared to be the owner eventually came over, threw some meat on the grill, then walked away. We still had to do the grilling ourselves. She even turned off the gas before our mushrooms were cooked. Good food, poor service. Come only if you're prepared to grill everything yourself.
View on GoogleThis Korean bbq place is actually opened by a Korean owner, so you know that it is authentic! It has everything that you would expect from a Korean bbq such as sides with free refills and free barley tea. What I did not expect is that the waitstaff will actually cook for you! That was wonderful because we would definitely overcook the meat if we did it ourselves hahaha. The restaurant itself was quite small, and the table could hardly fit our party of 5. So this place might not be suitable for large gatherings. As for the meat, the seasoned chicken and seasoned brisket were really nice! But the pork belly was not pre-seasoned so it was slightly bland by itself. It is really nice with the dips though, but for those who do not enjoy dips, the meat can be rather bland. The steamed egg is also slightly tasteless by itself, but it is incredible with the bean sauce provided. Overall it was a great meal! But for those who do not enjoy sauces and dips, the food can be slightly bland on its own.
View on GoogleBeen to this outlet 3 times the past 3 months and the food has been consistent and really good in my opinion. 5 stars for the food. I really like the 3mm pork belly and the thinly sliced pork belly. I have had both kimchi stew and soft tofu stew and I recommend the kimchi stew over the soft tofu stew! I had the buffet set ($31+ per pax, dining limit 70mins) this time as I wanted to try the buffet for the fried chicken but it was quite dry so I think I would just get the pork belly set ($58+) in the future. The banchan is mid, nothing mind-blowing. However, the service is not great. During my first two visit, the service wasn’t particularly great but the lady boss gave us free drinks with our meal which was nice (she did not ask for 5 star reviews for the drinks.) On my 3rd visit, the lady boss was not around, it was two males instead. We didn’t get water unlike the first two visits despite us being one of the two tables occupied so it wasn’t busy or anything. Hygiene could be improved too.
View on GoogleWant to know if a Korean restaurant is good? We walked in to find multiple Korean families enjoying their dinner, laughing and chatting with the hostess. To me, that’s a pretty good indication that this place would be worth the price and have pretty good food. We had the beef and pork set B for dinner, and it was enough for the three of us. With an enticing deal on alcohol (2 beer + 1 soju for $35) we enjoyed ourselves to the max. I can confidentially say that when you pay for service charge, you pay for actual service. Though busy at times, the servers are attentive and this is one of the few establishments where they do most of the cooking for you at the table. The hostess was very generous and offered us free drinks multiple times. We ended up ordered extra food and by the time we were finished, we left full and happy. Thanks to the team for a wonderful evening! I will be back for sure.
View on GoogleTried out Sin Manbok Korean Restaurant after the wife was craving Korean BBQ — and it was a decent experience overall 🔥 📍 81 Tanjong Pagar Road, Singapore 088502 They’re currently running a $58++ promo which includes: 🥩 3 types of BBQ meat 🍚 Cheese kimchi rice 🍲 Kimchi stew 🥚 Steamed egg 🧅 Onion & mushrooms 🥢 Free-flow side dishes (banchan) The meat quality was solid and the sides were refillable. That said, the banchan selection was quite limited (about 5 items, mostly vegetables). Total came up to $69.54 for 2 pax after GST and service charge. At this price point, I’d say it’s decent — but along the same stretch, I’d personally recommend Obba Jjajang or SuperStar K Korean BBQ instead. For a similar price, they offer more variety and better-quality banchan with meat options — like tuna salad and sausages at Obba Jjajang, or japchae, ikan bilis, and sausages at SuperStar K. Meat quality across all three places is fairly similar, so the sides really make the difference in my opinion. Verdict: Worth trying once, but there are slightly better options nearby 👌
