I dropped by this restaurant alone for a weekday lunch. The dining area was quite crowded during my visit, which clearly indicates its popularity. The interior perfectly replicates a traditional Japanese izakaya, creating a highly authentic and comfortable atmosphere that Japanese patrons will particularly appreciate. Furthermore, the service is excellent and attentive, supported by the presence of many Japanese staff members who ensure a smooth dining experience. I have also visited this establishment for dinner with my colleagues in the past, and the overall quality of the food and service was just as commendable. Whether you are looking for a casual solo lunch during the workday or an engaging evening dinner with coworkers, this establishment remains a consistent and reliable option. I certainly plan to return for another meal in the future.

No wait on a Fri evening for both indoor and outdoor seatings. Service was okay. Staff can be overwhelmed at times. Food tasted above average; not the best but better than most. Good sake selections. Noise level was high, and it reminded us of the izakayas in Japan. If you don't want to raise your voice above the crowd throughout dinner, it might be a better idea to sit outdoors (if you don't mind secondhand smoke).

The Japanese food is not bad. The curry udon tastes quite good but oyaku don was not that nice with the chicken. There are native Japanese customers in this restaurant to show that this place is rather authentic. The service is not bad. The restaurant is quite clean and new. The big screen TV makes it feel like quite like a restaurant in Osaka.

The vibes were good, service was attentive. Sad to say this but i have to be honest - food was average, had better chicken dons elsewhere. The saving grace and the more important thing is that the food was fresh and served piping hot. Tucked in a secluded part of Telok Ayer so requires Google Maps to find.

One reviewer said: being busy is a good indication of good food. For me that's not true. The place could be busy because of reasonable price but ok food. This is how we felt about this restaurant. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. S$18-20 for a set lunch was a good price. We two ordered a Tempura Don and a Tempura with Soba. The best was the cold tea that came with the lunch. The tempura was not cooked fresh but definitely made earlier in the morning. The batter was ever so slightly chewy.
