Nixta is the culmination of Chef Travis Masiero’s intense reverence and respect for Mexican culture and cooking. Our philosophy is not rooted in authenticity but in the pleasure of intention and deliciousness that defines Mexican cooking.

Had such a great meal at Nixta! The portions were surprisingly generous, and we were already pretty stuffed by the time dessert came around. 😋 A huge thank you to the gentleman who hosted us - truly appreciate the kind gesture and hospitality! I’ll definitely be back to try the other dishes. ❤️
View on GoogleHad an excellent meal at Nixta. It’s pretty pricey but well worth it. The Baja fish taco was spot on, and the beef fajitas perfectly tender. Definitely get these. The other dishes were good but nothing amazing. For dessert don’t skip the churros, the portion was large but you’ll want every bit. It’s the lightest and fluffiest churros I’ve ever had. Even the sauces were perfect, slightly bitter chocolate and not too sweet caramel. I’d come back again just for the churros.
View on GoogleCame to Nixta Mexican Grill & Bar with high expectations after hearing many positive reviews. We started with their classic margarita, but unfortunately it was far too sour for my palate. It lacked balance, and I couldn’t even finish the drink. Complimentary crispy bites were served before we moved on to a selection of tacos, quesadillas and tostadas, all presented beautifully with fresh ingredients and vibrant colours. Unfortunately, the overall dining experience didn’t quite live up to my expectations. While the ingredients were fresh, most of the dishes shared a very similar flavour profile, lacking the bold, smoky and spicy punch that I usually look for in authentic Mexican cuisine. The tacos were also rather messy to eat, with the fillings falling apart after just a few bites, making the experience less enjoyable. The tuna tostada was probably my favourite dish of the evening, offering a nice contrast of textures and freshness. The quesadilla was generously filled, although I would have preferred the tortilla to be crispier. The fish tacos were decent, but again the flavours felt rather one-dimensional. We paired the meal with a bottle of Festivo Malbec 2023 from Mendoza, Argentina. It was smooth, fruit-forward and easy to drink, and honestly became the highlight of the evening, pairing much better with the food than the margarita. The service was attentive and the restaurant has a cosy, modern atmosphere that’s ideal for a casual gathering. However, from a food perspective, I was hoping for more vibrant flavours and a stronger Mexican identity. Overall, it wasn’t a bad meal, but it didn’t justify the high expectations. I’d rate it 6.5/10 and probably wouldn’t return unless the menu evolves.
View on GoogleWorth getting in for the happy hour deals. The pork belly and duck tacos where the best.. the fish taco tasted / smelled a little too fishy but the tummy was ok so no worries.. The margaritas didn't have much oomph and others in the group also mentioned.. So nice that they bought us complementary cake.. the tres leches was to die for..
View on GoogleFinally ticked off this place from my to try list! But was too full to try the churros 😩 Food was overall good (especially loved their crispy corn tortilla!!! May have been the best corn chips I’ve had) and I will definitely be back to try their other items! Pictured: - [Complimentary] Corn Bread (salsa verde & salsa roja) 👍🏻 - Guacamole Nixta (haas avocadoes, grilled tomato, serrano, lime, white onion, feta) 👍🏻 - Tlayuda de la Casa (roasted corn, epazote, queso fresco, herb oil) 👍🏻 - Travis’ Cadillac Fajitas (wagyu rib eye, house mole, ember-roasted chiles & onions, served with green rice, black beans and warm corn tortillas) 👌🏻
