I’ve always patronized the AMK outlet as it’s much nearer and more convenient for me. This time, I decided to order delivery, and only the Tanjong Pagar outlet was available. We ordered the Signature Crab Bee Hoon, White Pepper Crab, asparagus with scallops, signature tofu, and buns. I have to say that although they operate under the same Mellben brand, the taste and overall standard differed quite noticeably from the AMK outlet. Unfortunately, both crab dishes didn’t feel as fresh as expected.. the crab meat tended to stick to the shell, which affected the eating experience. That said, the soup base for the Crab Bee Hoon still maintained the rich and comforting flavour that Mellben is known for. The asparagus with scallops was also slightly disappointing as the asparagus was overcooked and too soft, lacking the crunch and texture it should have had. Overall, this experience felt rather average compared to what I’m used to at the AMK branch. Lesson learnt! I’ll probably stick to dining in at the AMK outlet in future for a better experience and fresher crabs.

Seeing many mixed reviews here, so was my experience, with the food far better than the service. Just two of the more senior female staff seemed to understand service, with the rest needing serious basic training. One cleared away the teapot when he asked if he could clear some wine glasses away. For the pricey seafood ordered, it was also very odd no vinegar or chilli sauce was available. At least the fish and crabs were fresh but at that price, no less is to be expected. Keep it up, you can do better.

Went there to have a birthday celebration. Ordered a few dishes - prawn, beancurd, crab & veg. Fast and good service. Food wise, nothing else but delicious!

Life is wonderful when you can eat melbens without worrying about the calories 😝😝😝 Yummy for every occasion. $600 for 6 pax. Abit hard to locate this restaurant but once you find it, you are in for a big feast.

One of my friends just went there a few months ago and highly recommended me to try this restaurant out. The waitress who served us was very friendly. Those signature dishes were very tasty too. That’s why they are so famous. After dinner, my friends and I walked around Tanjong Pagar. It’s a very beautiful area to visit.
