Does what it says on the tin; simple menu staring wonderful fish and good chips. Super crispy batter and fresh fish. The chips could be better (perhaps try double or triple fried). Mushy peas great. The tartar sauce is disappointing, tastes like it’s from a jar and not homemade. Scotch egg also hits the spot. Ours had a hair in it and they were quick to apologise and send a fresh one. To get from a 4 to a 5 for me: Crispier chips. Homemade tartar sauce (or at least start with Hellmans mayo and chuck some pickle and dill in). Better selection of beer; Heineken and Guinness are not great beer for fish and chips.
View on GoogleOne of the best fish and chips in town - I have tried a couple of other fish and chips around but nothing comes close to this. The batter is light and crispy, while the meat remains moist and clean- tasting. Don’t sleep on their mashed peas as well. Also, I would recommend changing to their skinny fries for a crispier and fluffier fry. Not going to lie, it does get cloying after awhile so I would recommend you order some of their other ‘non battered’ items eg beef stew (unfortunately oos when I was there) or sausage if you are sharing just to break it up. Else, I would highly recommend going for the scampi instead as it is still done in the same batter but the portion is ‘lighter’ Also kudos to their service staff as well who were really hospitable and attentive.
View on GoogleThis place has been on our radar for its exceptional fish and chips. It seems They’ve truly mastered the art of battering and frying the fish and chips, as well as the scampi. The batter is perfectly thin and not overly oily, while the scampi is fresh and cooked to perfection. The fish is also well-cooked and easy to eat. However, the tartar sauce could use some improvement. It lacks the kick that gives it a good flavor, but the lemon seems to enhance its taste. The curry sauce is also not as good as expected, opt for other sauce instead. The thick-cut fries are very nice and pair well with the fish and chips. Enjoy them all with some malt vinegar, the British way. The beer selection is okay, and they also have some gin and other alcoholic drinks. However, the gin is too much tonic and not enough gin, which is not ideal. Overall, this place is worth trying for its excellent fish and chips.
View on GoogleService here was good (staff were very helpful and respond fast). Atmosphere within the restaurant itself represents the food(London pub vibes), a little bit warm for my liking wish it were cooler. Food was excellent, one of the best fish and chips in Singapore without a doubt, ordered the thick cut of fries (really good with the salt and vinegar), scotch egg was good but a little bit too pricey for my liking but I do respect the difficulty to make it. Overall was good will come again.
View on GoogleHalibut was fresh here, batter was light and crispy! Thick fries were crispy yet fluffy. They had a good bite to it. Delicious! Scampi was fresh and crispy too. Will be back!
