The place is decent. Had a meal here on one of my weekly virtual date nights with my boyfriend living overseas. Pretty comfy and quaint restaurant. I had to look twice to make sure it’s the right place because the signage was not seen from where i was walking. Greeted by a friendly staff, and was given plenty of time to look at the menu. The house pour wine is of a good value ($7 a glads. I had merlot). The idea of an open kitchen is quite appealing. It’s just unfortunate that my ribeye steak was a bit dry. I did ask for medium well, but I think the chef left it a tad too long on the grill. And also, I was seated next to a rather loud group of people. It would’ve been a 5 out of 5 experience otherwise.

The quality of food felt like the chef was not around and a waiter stepped up to the kitchen. We ordered Rendang Eggs Benedict and the eggs came almost hard boiled so I asked for a change of eggs (shown in picture). Sweet potatoes texture felt air fried. Rendang sauce tastes like those premix. We also ordered Rebel Breakfast and the mushrooms were undercooked. (Shown in picture) The side of Aussie Grass fed beef was dry and underwhelming, as though it’s pulled pork from a can. (Shown in picture). Overheard from the waiter that they’re short of one chef today hence the long wait for the food delivery guys and perhaps the slipshod prep in our food. Lastly, the turmeric latte was diluted. Totally not worth the $55!

The caesar salad was decent but the chicken chop was pretty bland and leant on the dry side so much that it was tough we did not/could not finish eating it. No complaints about the general service of the wait staff. However, there's no compelling reason to return unless we're there for their chia seed puddings and overnight oats.

Unbelievably Vegan Quesadillas! The Rebel Bar has launched their vegan menu with more than 40 vegan dishes in their Stanley Street outlet! Had previously tried some of their plant-based dishes at their Serangoon Gardens outlet and we were impressed with the food quality and Vegan offerings. Came here for brunch on a weekday. Great place with friendly staff. Ordered the avocado toast with an almond cappuccino. Avo toast was served on a sourdough and was crispy on the outside yet moist on the inside. Love it. Will be back when I am in the area to try the other dishes. Vegan friendly
