A great spot for those who enjoy Japanese-style dry ramen (abura soba). Conveniently located in the Tanjong Pagar area, the restaurant offers a casual dining environment that feels very much like a small eatery you might find in Japan. The space is relatively small, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. The cosy setup adds to the charm, but it can get quite crowded and warm during peak meal hours, especially when the restaurant is full. The concept is slightly different from traditional ramen, as the noodles are served without broth and are meant to be mixed thoroughly with the sauce and toppings before eating. The flavours are rich and satisfying, and the noodles have a nice chewy texture that holds the sauce well. Portion sizes are reasonable, and there are various toppings and seasonings available to customise the dish according to your preference. The combination of ingredients creates a comforting and flavourful meal without feeling overly heavy. Service was good throughout our visit. Staff were friendly, efficient. Overall, Kajiken at Tras is a reliable choice for a satisfying bowl of abura soba. If you’re looking for something different from regular ramen, this is definitely worth a try, and it’s a place we would happily return to.
View on GoogleOrdered the Taiwan original karaage & chashu mazesoba. Karaage is juicy and well marinated, have to mix the noodles well before eating. Noodles is springy and quite big portion. Like the chashu too as it’s not too fatty kind and the taste is nice! Recommend the gyoza as well! However, the indoor seating & space is limited.
View on Google⭐☆☆☆☆ The meat portion was pathetically less. As you can see from the video. Maybe the chef mood isn’t as good. Surprisingly store here doesn’t provide hard boil eggs unless with voucher. However the soup and drinks are free flow. Despite you have to ask for refill instead of proactively topping them up compared to other branch. I've visited another branch where they refill drinks and soup proactively and even provide free-flow eggs, so I expected the same. Unfortunately, this branch was a letdown. Plus point is no queue not crowded can walk in anytime. Ramen taste good still.
View on GoogleMy go-to place for dry noodles in Singapore, I’ve been a loyal customer for more than 8 years. The taste is consistently amazing and the quality is always great. The staff are friendly, and I’ve heard they’re expanding to the Philippines. Really happy for them and wishing them continued success!
View on GoogleI love kajiken. The tea goes so well with the noodles. There’s spring onion, a thick piece of char siew and runny egg yolk. Bamboo shoots is usually not my favourite but this one is so juicy, I really love it. Free upsized noodles when you first order! But the portion without it is huge enough.
