Overall, the food here is actually very good — the flavors are rich and satisfying, and the dishes we ordered all tasted great. Unfortunately, the service really let the experience down. We had an issue with a bottle that clearly hadn’t been opened before, but the staff immediately said it was an empty bottle without even checking properly. It felt like there wasn’t much effort to verify the situation or help resolve it. It’s a pity because the food itself is quite enjoyable, but the service could definitely be improved to match the quality of the dishes.

This Hunan restaurant serves truly authentic flavors. The dishes are spicy, rich, and full of aroma, just like what you would find in China. Every dish we ordered was well-seasoned and freshly cooked. Portions are generous and the food quality is consistent. Definitely a great place for anyone who enjoys real Chinese spicy cuisine.

Came here on the first day of Chinese new year. The atmosphere is good and the food is ok, although it is overpriced, even without the CNY surcharge. We ordered 3 dishes which already cost over $120. One of the dish was a whole chicken. We asked one of the waitresses to help us divide the chicken into smaller portions but she told us she couldn’t do it. 10 minutes later we saw her helping another table divide the same chicken dish we ordered. Their customer service has room for improvement, and they have much to learn from 东方美食.

If you're looking for a truly authentic Hunanese dining experience in Singapore, Jia Xiang Xiao Chu is a must-visit. I recently had the pleasure of trying their cuisine for the first time, and I was absolutely blown away. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a traditional Chinese decor that creates a cozy atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff who were happy to recommend their favorite dishes. Overall I had a fantastic experience at Jia Xiang Xiao Chu!

Love the foods there, good value for money. The most important thing is no MSG. Why will I say this? Because we don’t feel thirsty after eating. 👍
