We loved the cold somen, the sauce was light, savoury and sweet - it was divine! All of the other dishes were pretty average. Visited on a Wednesday night and it was relatively empty. Service was prompt but not super friendly. Pro tip - You can use Entertainer app with 1 for 1 on either main, taps or lunch.

Great! Came here for an early birthday celebration and the food was great! If your palate leans more bland though, this isn’t for you but I thoroughly enjoyed the food. They even prepared a birthday dessert for me which I had no idea about. Favourite dishes were the lobster salad and wagyu!

We had dinner on a Monday night a few weeks ago, the service by Aaron (and the truffle somen pasta) were so good that we decided to come back that Thursday for their new omakase menu! It was a steal with the introductory buy two get one free offer, and we were able to bring our own sake to accompany the meal (although the menu did come with a complimentary sake cocktail). Chef Kan prepared a seasonal, delicious, and very generously portioned menu, and used fresh and high quality ingredients including ootoro, A5 wagyu, and uni. While we were very impressed with the food, the service was truly exceptional. Can't wait to be back!

Recently opened gem of a place a stone's throw away of the Dorsett Singapore. A great start being politely greeted at the door and be shown to our table by a lovely staffer. Menu here is that of a ダイニングバー. Think Tapas, with a Japanese twist. Dining in here was an absolute pleasure, as pictures will attest to. Heartened to spot a proficient crew of young people busying in the front of house, keeping glasses filled, empty dishes cleared and always staying visible of their diners. I especially liked the high ceiling which this ground floor space affords to make the entire dining area spacious and airy. Add to that, suitably volume playlist piped in in the background and dim lighting, it almost has a club feel to it.

This is my first time visiting IPPAI for lunch. I took a train to Outram MRT station, took a lift up to the first floor and it brought me direct to Dorsett Residences. IPPAI is just right at the doorstep, very easily accessible and convenient. First look at the restaurant, it has full glass window, very bright, clean and spacious with a modern classy look. The bar counter was beautiful ! The staff that serves us, Gerald was very attentive and friendly. It makes me and my 3 other friends felt so welcome. My dining experience was perfect! The restaurant has a peaceful feel and was quiet. Good for having business lunch too I felt. We had the set lunch, which comes with appetizer, salad and miso soup. The food was not only tasty, it was very well presented with nice plating even for set lunch. Overall, it is reasonably priced with quality food. I will definitely visit again! Worth to check out this new Japanese restaurant !
