Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon has come a long way since opening at Blk 46 Holland Drive in 1996 as the pioneer of X.O. fish soup. Committed to quality, it uses only the finest X.O. sauce and fresh ingredients. Its recent location at 39 Temple Street marks an exciting new chapter after a brief hiatus during the pandemic. ❤️❤️ Originally at 17 Smith Street in Chinatown since 2002, this outlet paused operations in 2024 due to reduced foot traffic in the nearby Chinatown Food Street. However, it has now reopened at the bustling Chinatown Coffee Shop, where the energetic atmosphere enhances its beloved offerings. 😍😍😍 The highlight remains the XO Fish Bee Hoon, a flavorful noodle soup featuring tender fish slices in a creamy XO broth, complemented by delicate bee hoon and fried fish. Another must-try is the San Lao Hor Fun, where thick flat rice noodles are expertly wok-fried with fresh ingredients like fish and bean sprouts, creating a delightful harmony of flavors. 👍😋😋 While the XO Fish Head Bee Hoon is the flagship dish, many patrons adore the Prawn Paste Fried Chicken (Har Cheong Kai), with its perfectly crispy skin and juicy, sweet meat. The Prawn Roll offers a tempting appetizer with its crunchy, golden-fried exterior and savory prawn filling. 👍😋😋 For greens, the Hong Kong Kailan stir-fried with garlic or oyster sauce adds a fragrant touch. Meanwhile, the Salted Egg Prawns, coated in a delicate layer of egg and infused with rich salted egg flavor, are heavenly. 👍😋😋 The Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon Restaurant at Temple Street upholds its excellent reputation while expanding its menu. Whether revisiting the famed XO Fish Bee Hoon or exploring various zi char classics in a lively coffee shop setting, diners can expect a captivating culinary experience. 🤩🤩

Singapore's best sam lor hor fun IMHO, which is a dry version of the wok-hey infused fried kway teow (flat rice noodles), paired with generous amount of fish slices and crunchy bean sprouts. If you have more people, you can try the soup version with thick bee hoon as well which is excellent. Other noteworthy dishes by priority are the prawn paste (har cheong) chicken, fried vegetables (nai bai, kailan or qinglong) and heizhor (deep fried crispy prawn rolls). My regular go-to place. Casual place which is most comfortable in T-shirt/sleeveless and shorts

One of my favourite haunts for zi char place. This place is very well known for the XO fish soup that comes chunky fish slices. The next dish that you must order is the prawn paste chicken wings. It’s so crispy and has such good prawn paste taste with every bite. Highly recommended place if you are in Chinatown area. Do take note that they only accept cash and the menu are in Chinese.

My mother love this restaurant back when they were at Smith Street. They had the whole unit to themselves. Upon recommendation by my mother, my fiancée and I decided to give it a try. To my surprise they were no longer at their usual spot. Alas they had moved to 39/41 Temple Street, became one of the stalls in a small "food court". The shop front is still along Temple Street. Instead of the Fish head bee hoon my mother used to order we went for the fish slices bee hoon instead for obvious reasons.. the bones. As there are just 2 of us, we ordered the "for 2" portion which is adequate. We decided have some variety so I suggested the Stir Fried Mixed Vegetables (Lo Han Zai 罗汉斋). The Bee Hoon was bland and the vegetables, although, looks like a good portion in the photo is actually quite lacking in quantity and quality. I do not know if they had changed hands or their standard has deteriorated due to the high cost/rental. Hence they had to move? I guess I will pass on them and try other stores.

One of our favourite meal in Singapore We have ordered the fish soup bee hoons. The soups are fresh, sweet and so delicious. And we have also ordered the fish head soup bee goon, prawn spring rolls, butter prawn and prawn paste fried chicken. All of these are so good. Price are very reasonable. The restaurant is full of customers even though the shop is small. Good ventilation and very comfortable eating inside during a hot summer evening. We will definitely come back when we visit Singapore next time
