Local dessert place serving various cold taro, fruits, and sweet cream mix. There are a lot flavours to choose from. We likes our mango gui ling gao and mango with ice cream. We went on a non busy hour in the afternoon so there are no queue. The service is nice and friendly. The cold dessert is specially nice on a warm weather day.
View on GoogleGong He Guan in Chinatown is a traditional Chinese dessert spot that offers a nostalgic, old-school vibe. The shop has both indoor seating and a few tables set up along the street, giving it a casual, slightly retro feel that fits well with the neighborhood. One interesting detail is the classic herbal tea display—a large bottle gourd-shaped brass container, similar to what you’d see in traditional herbal tea shops. It adds a nice touch of authenticity and visual character to the place. The menu focuses on Chinese desserts, with gui ling gao being one of their signature items. However, this was somewhat underwhelming. Compared to the versions commonly found in places like Hong Kong, the herbal flavour here is much milder and lacks the distinctive bitterness that typically defines a good gui ling gao. In fact, it’s mild enough to eat on its own without needing sugar syrup, which might appeal to some, but those expecting a strong, traditional herbal taste may find it disappointing.
View on GoogleThis lovely local shop is one of those unpretentious places serving traditional Chinese desserts. I visited about 4 times while in Singapore and it’s popular with mainly locals, and deservedly so. The menu is good sized. Some of the dishes I’ve tried are the Mango Sago, Rock Melon Sago, Mango Gui Ling Gao and Milk Tea Gui Ling Gao. Everything is delicious.
View on GoogleThe dessert was really good, better than I expected. Their signature menu is grass jelly with mango. At first, I wasn’t sure how it would taste, but it turned out to be really delicious. I recommend coming here to try it!
View on GoogleHappened to walk past during lunch hours today. Decided to give it a try since it was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered Almond Paste with 3 mixed Tang Yuan and it was really delicious. Portion was smaller than expected for the price of $6 😂 Aunty was also quite friendly and bid me farewell while leaving.
