Very quiet on a Saturday and there was only 1 other table apart from us. Got 2 set lunches ($28++ each) - one with Laphet Thoke (fermented tea leaf salad), Mohinga (some noodle dish); the other was Shan TofuKyaw and Ngar Kin (grilled red snapper dish w rice). We also got one other ala carte eggplant dish in masala curry to share. This was the second time I had Burmese food, and the fermented tea leaf salad tasted different from the first place I had. While I liked the varying textures (esp the crunch from the peanuts and peas?), it leaned towards the sour side. The 2 tiny chili padis provided a good spicy kick too. Overall, it was just alright for me. The Shan tofu felt better, it had a slight sweetness to it and paired well with the accompanying sauce. Be sure to eat it fast as it loses it's crispiness quite fast, as with many fried foods. The mains - both mains felt very underwhelming, nothing quite outstanding. Especially the fish with rice dish, just tasted like what you would expect... It was my first time trying Mohinga too, and I was slightly disappointed as the vibrancy of the dish left me thinking it could be more. But what I tasted was quite a normal, bland noodle dish without much dimension to it. Felt almost like a watered down laksa-ish kinda vibes? Without the coconut milk taste. The best dish we had was the masala eggplant, which stole the show (and our hearts). While it was on the oilier side, it provided a good balance of tastiness and the masala curry left us wanting more. Both my friend and I agreed this was the best fish. In fact, it paired better with the rice as compared to the fish (which was kinda bland for us as well). Both sets came with the same dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. It was also our favourite dish as the milk tea ice cream, just slightly sweet, provided a nice contrast to the sweet banana puree-ish mush. I didn't know milk tea and banana would go so well together. Honestly the highlight of the meal. Chef's kiss! Overall, although the food left much to be desired, there were still some outstanding dishes and we enjoyed our meal nevertheless. Service was good too and the ambience (maybe because it was just us) was pleasant. Would I come back? Perhaps not. However, I could foresee this being a place suitable for celebrating special occasions.

First time trying Burmese cuisine and I was genuinely blown away. We kicked things off with the short rib skewers, which were ridiculously tender with deep, savoury flavours, and the laphet hummus served with warm pita, a clever pairing that was totally addictive. For mains, the Ohn-No Khout Swel was pure comfort, with springy egg noodles swimming in a rich, coconutty chicken curry that was fragrant without being heavy. The Wet Thar Dan Bauk, a Burmese-style briyani with pork knuckle, was another standout, featuring beautifully spiced rice and melt-in-your-mouth pork that tied everything together perfectly. Walking in with zero expectations or knowledge of Burmese food, I loved discovering how it draws parallels with other Southeast Asian cuisines while still feeling very much its own thing. Shoutout to the server as well, who was super knowledgeable and helped explain the dishes, which made the whole experience even better. Would 100% recommend Club Rangoon if you’re a curious eater or just want really good food.

Having never eaten Burmese food before, I can’t weigh in on its authenticity, but in terms of taste and quality, this place is bomb.com. Came here for a work dinner and had some amazing dishes. The corn fritters were crispy without being greasy and heavy. The spring grilled chicken was amazing! Tender and juicy it’s everything you want in a chicken. The grilled red snapper was well seasoned and melted in your mouth. We also got a curry and a noodle dish that were really good. Fabulous experience and highly recommend!

Love the new menu. I enjoyed the fresh and nuanced deliciousness of the Burmese dishes here, all done with modern and tasteful twists by Head Chef Noom. My faves were the Laphet Hummus ($14++), a Burmese fermented tea oil-mixed hummus served with warm pita, the Samusa Thoke ($12++) which required smashing and mixed prior to eating, the incredible Short Rib Skewers ($18++)) topped with a herbaceous pennywort salad and Burmese chimichurri. The Wet Thar Dan Bauk ($34++), a Burmese-style biryani with tender pork knuckle and a refreshing piquant green mango salad was really enjoyable too. The space is comfortable and the ambience, very inviting. In short, a great place to chill and have proper conversations (am glad the music is not too loud) over unique and really tasty food.
