We ordered the braised pork belly rice set, intestine mee sua, and egg pancake with cheese and pork floss. The taste was very homely and generally good, though I wished that the flavours were stronger. Perhaps it's just my personal preference, but I would have loved a bit more of the oiliness that those at a street stall in the night market would have, which makes it a little more authentic. We still enjoyed our time there, and the decor was also very nostalgic, with typewriters and cassette tapes!
View on GoogleThere's a home cooked taste to the food. I ordered the 卤肉饭便当 (pork bento). It was light on oil and salt, which I like and is healthier. Serving size is just about right for an adult male. It seems to be managed by Taiwanese so the food should be authentic. The place is small but cozy and decorated with old school nostalgic household items. It's a good place for a quiet lunch. Overall a thumbs up and would visit again.
View on GoogleOne of my fave Taiwanese cafes in Sg. The Lu Rou Fan and Salted Chicken rice dons are both very tasty, although I personally prefer salted chicken, as it also comes with a generous dash of Lu rou, so you get the best of both worlds. Their set meal is very worth it: it comes with a drink and a side (we chose fried mushrooms & pi dan egg, which were delicious!). Also previously ordered their cheese egg crepe, which is also very good. I personally prefer the outdoor seating when the weather is ok (and they have giant fans anyway) as you might end up smelling like the food if you sit indoors.
View on GoogleLocated across Chinatown, Want Food serves a series of affordable yet delicious taiwanese cuisine. A must try includes the pork floss cheese egg roll, salted crispy chix and 🇹🇼 braised beef noodle. The egg roll was crispily fried with stretchy cheese to our liking. Loving it so much. Will definitely be back to try their braised pork rice and other dishes.
View on GoogleHas the lu rou fan set which taste good on it's only, the mushroom tempura is well seasoned too. Egg is old school hard boil though, so nothing too exciting there. Oh ya chili is really good and goes well. The salt crispy chicken is very underwhelming, feels like very poor chicken quality. Milk tea is ok, the pearl feels a bit dry. Honestly price point is steep for comfort food.
