I have always wanted to give this Japanese restaurant a try. That day my friend bought me a birthday lunch set at the Chinatown outlet. The restaurant front was pleasant and exciting because it displayed the menu as well as food look-alikes in glass cabinet. The staff was friendly. Food could be customized as I was allergic to eggs. They were able to give my friends the eggs that I didn't want. That was very flexible of them. The ramen was good and so was the soup. Not too salty, just nice as I have high BP. We chose pan-fried dumplings and maki. As the outlet was not big and at lunch time it became noisy and we can't continue to talk. I won't mind return to try other dishes at off-peak hours. Stay tune for my next update. The Tampines outlet we visited was in Sep. Due to CoVid, social distancing was observed. My friend and I have to sit side by side as there were diners at the next table and opposite. Ordering was via a tablet fitted on the sideboard of the table. That makes it even more uncomfortable. However, the food was so yummy it overshadowed the unpleasant feeling of the rather odd sitting arrangement. We ordered teriyaki chicken ramen with black garlic oil soup and salmon and rice sets. The ramen has a choice of thin and thick noodles. The black garlic oil glazed the top of ramen. And it was sinfully delicious. It's salty and oily for the hypertension me so I left one quarter of the soup in the bowl. My Indian friend said the salmon was very good, so you have to try. You hardly see Indians or Malays eating Japanese food I wondered why. But if there's one, believe him. The set comes with a side dish and drink. All these for less than $20 before gst and service charge.

The white based ramen has all the condiments I like with the bamboo shoots, seaweed, runny egg and spring onions. Ordering the set is worth it cos you get to choose a side and a drink too. I wish that the broth could be thicker though. The Japanese sausage consists of minced pork that was rather tasty.

Average. Lunch set menu is not clear. They offer 2x -5x free noodle upgrade for their cold ramen, which is not part of their lunch menu. Set lunch ramen only comes with one piece of Cha Shu which is quite stingy. Tea is refillable. However service was not up to standard. They served the wrong side dishes and was hard to get their attention. Some of us order crispy Gyoza, grilled Gyoza and karaage as the side dishes.

Back again after 7 months for the same black garlic ramen, seems like the soup has less flavour than before and the meat is smaller in portion. A hot decent bowl with rich flavour but would prefer more garlic and thicker noodle.

Quite disappointing with the cha siew! Very thick and very difficult to bite! It's totally deviated from the menu! Don't know what happen to their standards now. Hopefully they can look into it.
