This is a small museum that also serves as the entrance to a hotel. The courtyard has a traditional atmosphere, with a statue, old-style architecture, and displays including a model ship. It is not a large museum, but it is an interesting place to stop for a few minutes while passing through the area.
View on GoogleTiny museum but the amazing diorama depicting the Telok Ayer street scene is well worth the visit. Don't miss the lovely wall murals found along the corridor leading to Amoy Hotel reception lobby!
View on GoogleCame here for quick visit during lunch time. Very interesting historical temple and well preserved. Would definitely come again when I have more time.
View on GoogleA nice museum which has been here for many years. Enter past the museum main entrance and keep going straight - its sheltered all the way to Chinatown Point/Chinatown MRT/Peoples Park Complex/Havelock II/Clarke Quay MRT
View on GoogleThe Fuk Tak Chi Temple or Fook Tet Soo Khek Temple (Chinese: 海唇福德祠) was one of the oldest former temple in Singapore built in 1820 by Cantonese and Hakka immigrants from Kwong Wai Siew (广惠肇三府), dedicated to Tua Pek Kong catering to the religious needs of both the Confucianists and Taoists. In 1998, the building was restored and converted into a museum featuring rich Chinese history and culture with artefacts on the lives of early Chinese migrants in Singapore. Refurbishment was tasteful and true to the temple's ancestral origins. Also fronts what looks like a tasteful boutique Amoy Hotel in the back.
