On Google reservation, they did not specify the need to pay $6/pax for mandatory plate of edamame and lettuce in a VIP room. It was stated that usage of VIP room is FOC. In fact, they did not mention that it was with charcoal grill for 2 tables for my group of 7 pax. We intended to have only the mains, but we were all caught by surprise for with the charcoal grill that was already heated up upon arrival. They left us with no choice but to use it and order meat as well. It was also all of our first time here after seeing a YouTube recommendation. The main dishes were okay, nothing too memorable. The alcohol price for the grill meat portions is only for the group who orders 1 alcoholic drink each. This means our table had to have 7 alcoholic drinks to get the discounted price. It did not make sense mathematically for the dishes/meat for grill we wanted and there were barely any savings based on the price of the cheapest alcohol @$11.90/cup x 7 nos. The female service staff were fine, but the one male staff with spectacles was particularly rude and clearly frustrated with our group when we needed more time to decide on the menu. All the extra costs like edamame and lettuce, were only told to us after we made the main order. This is quite questionable, and not sure if this was their protocol. The vent was also dripping dirty oil. They switched out a plate of meat for us, as it had the oil drip on the meat we were trying to cook on the grill. It was also our first time using a charcoal grill, but there was no tutorials or guidance from the staff on how to cook our meat. The initial pieces were burnt pretty badly. But aside from that, the 2 female service staff were helpful and understanding toward our frustration and situation. Overall, we would not recommend this place at all. Please only reserve and state that you will only have mains if you don't intend to grill, and skip the VIP room if you have no choice but to dine here. The only saving grace for this place was the privacy it gave my group for using the room. We wouldn't mind the cost if it was mentioned to us upfront instead of having all these sneaky moves from the management of the restaurant. Aside from that, I 100% do not recommend if you do not intend to splurge or be charged with lots of hidden costs for mediocre food and meat cuts.

Came here for Dinner. Chicken cutlet tasted a bit strange. I cannot explain the "after taste" of the fried chicken. I stopped eating half-way and offered it to my friend who felt the same way. I also observed some parts of chicken was still pink. The curry was decent but definitely not no.1 curry. I also could not finish the curry. I love Japanese curry but this one did not hit the right spot. When I turned around the egg omelette, it had the faint blackish colour, probably cos of the frying pan. The gyoza and shishamo was pretty much soaked in oil and the ramen was average.

Truly an amazing deal. For just $4.90, I got to experience the world's first invisible yakiniku beef curry. The menu says beef curry, but the plate came with a single tiny piece of beef. When I asked the staff, I was told the beef had "disintegrated" into the curry. Fascinating culinary innovation—I never knew beef could completely dissolve and disappear. Yes, it's a cheap lunch promo, but serving essentially no beef and calling it yakiniku beef curry feels misleading. A promotion shouldn't mean the main ingredient vanishes. Save yourself the disappointment unless you're specifically craving curry with a side of imagination. Update: One piece of beef, two words of customer service. At least you're consistent.

The BBQ beef and pork were delightful, pairing well with Japanese sake and beer. 😍 This cozy Japanese restaurant offers an excellent menu, we enjoyed our dinner very much. Will come again. 😁

Niku-Jaga Curry Set Taste: The curry was rich and robust, while the meat was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The portion was generous, with a substantial amount of both meat and rice, so you definitely won't leave hungry. This could easily have been a 4.5-star dish if the curry gravy had been served hot. While the meat was warm, the gravy itself was cold. Curry is supposed to feel like a warm cuddle, instead, this felt more like an obligatory hug. Price: I visited during the weekend, fully aware that the promotional pricing was not available. Even so, I will gladly pay the regular price because it was genuinely that good. The quality and portion size made it worth it. Service & Atmosphere: The food arrived fairly quickly, which was appreciated. However, the side dishes were not served until I was already halfway through my meal. Buuuuut there were only around five or six customers in the restaurant at the time. The restaurant itself was dimly lit and a little cold. The place was dimly lit and kind of cold. If you just want to have a tasty meal and go, it is fine. Overall: Excellent curry with generous portions and beautifully cooked meat. I will happily bring my friends or colleagues here for a quickie. ...A quickie meal, that is. Buuuuut... probably not for a first date.
