JEM is home to one of the few dining spots in Singapore that truly captures an authentic Japanese atmosphere, drawing in office workers and Japanese food enthusiasts alike. The food was spectacular, with every dish carrying its own distinct character and flavour. Here are some of the dishes we ordered — a meal that came up to around $128 in total. 1. Aburi Salmon Mentaiko Roll (4.5/5) This dish exceeded my expectations, especially compared to other sushi chains offering the same roll. The presentation was elegant, the mentaiko was generously applied, and the torching was done just right — leaving a subtle smoky aroma that complemented every bite. The creamy layers of salmon and rich toppings came together beautifully in a way that's hard to find elsewhere. 2. Mentaiko Takoyaki (4/5) If you've tried the Takashimaya Takoyaki and found it underwhelming, this is the version you need. Smaller in size but far more satisfying, each ball is chewy and fresh, with the mentaiko sauce and takoyaki sauce playing off each other wonderfully. The warmth of the freshly made balls takes the whole experience to another level. 3. Ramen (4.5/5) The soul of a great ramen lies in its broth, and this one delivers. Every sip was rich and distinct from any other ramen I've had. I shared a bowl with my partner, who is typically quite selective about food — and even she was won over by the quality. Highly recommended. 4. Skewers (4/5) We ordered a premium skewer set, and they arrived piping hot and fresh. What made it fun was guessing which meat was which — chicken, beef, or pork — as each skewer offered a pleasant surprise. The variety kept us curious and coming back for more. Sign off 12 June 2026

Very warm and prompt service. Food is good and sashimi are thick cuts. Had a giant hamachi cheek at reasonable price (not in menu - recommendation fo the day). Overall, pleasant experience. Crowded on the day we visited.

This is probably one of the best priced sushi you can get in Singapore that is closest to Japan, particularly Hokkaido. We had salmon sashimi and Kaisen don and ramen and grilled squid. Large beer ofcourse. Price is on the higher side. But the quality is out of this world. Service tip top, fast and good. Atmosphere is good but don’t expect waku Gin Omakase type. I would highly recommend despite the higher price dishes. It’s really worth every cent.

Had a really great experience here. The ramen was super nice, the soup had a very unique and rich taste that stood out from other places I’ve tried. The sushi rolls were also super fresh and delicious. The team were very friendly, thoughtful, and attentive throughout the meal, which made the dining experience even better. Definitely a great spot for authentic Japanese food. Highly recommended!

Great sushi roll and oyster sashimi! Can tell the quality of sashimi is high quality. However, the skin of the unagi could be grilled crispier. Ramen also good!
