i went in with low expectations but WOW i was mad impressed. to me, a good bowl of BCM comes down to whether the varity of ingredients are cooked to individual perfection, especially the pork liver - it still has to be tender and slightly pink. cooking liver is notoriously hard to get right, so once that is achieved, that attention to detail is trickled down to every other aspect of the BCM as a whole. im not a fan of yellow noodles (mee kia / mee pok) so i opted for mee sua - it was cooked to al dente perfection and retained its texture throughout. vinegar and chilli sauce combo was balanced. her kiao (fish dumplings), regular fishballs, and the stuffed fishballs were all delicious but the MEATBALLS to me were a pleasant surprise - tender to the bite. ordered a side bowl of liver that came with the perfect excessive amount of pork lard - terribly unhealthy but oh so delish… i would happily die eating thisss! fair warning: shop was supposed to open at 7pm, there were 4 pax ahead of us when we joined the queue at 6:55pm. shop didnt open til 7:25pm. however, service was efficient. we ordered, paid, ate, and left by 8pm. 10/10 would come back here again if im in the orchard rd vicinity!

Holee sheet this had to be my most fav bcm in sg…and of all places it’s situated in sleaze town. They only open in the evening but til 5am. Perfect timing for all the sleazebag drunkards to sober up here. It’s a small shop with a bar table layout akin to an omakase restaurant. I ordered the signature bcm ($7.90). Comes with a decent bowl of noodles with generous bakchor. The noodles are cooked perfectly al dente. Make sure to mix the noodles properly with the secret sauce hidden at the bottom. The sauce has enough vinegar kick and super umami. But the highlight has to be the soup on the side. The soup is filled with several slices of pig liver, fish balls and fish cake. The pig liver is perfectly cooked so that it’s still slightly pink and not overcooked. Nice texture! Even though the price is higher than market rate but for this standard and in town, $7.90 is pretty reasonable. Highly recc!

16 May 2026 ‘Small Japanese eatery’ inspired layout with 11 seats facing the cook. Queue started forming before 7pm. Very clever use of the limited space and the menu is straightforward with limited options. While the cook is young, we were surprised the bak chor mee (bcm) and experience turned out good though there’s room for improvements. We ordered 2 x Signature BCM $7.90 x 2 Special Pork Ball (Fuzhou) $7 Fish Dumpling Soup $6.90 Total $29.70 ($14.85/pax) The Signature BCM came in a bowl of mixed goodness - pork liver (tender), pork ball, fish ball, fish dumpling, pork slices, fish cake and minced meat & noodles (mee sua, mee pok or mee kia) in bland soup. While it’s abit more pricey compared to usual bcm, the location and ingredients justified for its $7.90. The noodles came with chilli, vinegar, pork lard and minced meat. We had both mee pok and mee kia - noodles texture takes experience to bring it perfection; it has not met my expectation as it was abit soggy and lumpy. For first-time experience, the signature bcm has almost everything from the menu except the special pork ball (fuzhou ball). It’s an eatery we will try again. Thanks to this experience, we also discovered other popular f&b in this building.

12 seats only by the counter in one go. So, the wait is probably around 20 minutes...not something that I normally do. But the Bak Chor Mee is really my style. Al dente noodle, outstanding fish cake/fish ball, and equally important is the bouncy/slight fatty minced meat. Lastly, the soup is great and not to mention the spiciness/vinegar combination. Love it.

This late night supper joint is Singapore's version of where local food meets izakaya experience. Seating only 10 hungry diners, noodles are perfectly executed with a tad too many pieces of addictive lard. Queue for a seat is less than half hour, service about 10 minutes. The menu variety is not particularly extensive, perhaps because they focus on doing what they do well. They deserve a bib gourmand!
