Nice find in Orchard Gateway! We had both Chicken & Pork gyozas but order Pork gyoza if you have to choose only one. Chicken gyoza taste simpler (aka more bland) while pork gyoza is more flavorful. We had 3 types of ramen, my personal favorite would be the Black Garlic ramen 😍. What i like about the ramen is that the chashu slices are not all fatty cos I prefer leaner meat. Ramen egg was done very well but it is an added item. Service was great too!!!
View on GoogleKanshoku Ramen Bar used to be my go-to ramen spot, but over the years, the standard has dropped quite drastically… seriously, what went wrong? As a regular, I can tell the difference instantly — every taste, every bite. The noodles are still fine, no complaints there. But the real issue is the soup base. If you know ramen, you’ll know the soup is the soul of the dish. Unfortunately, the soup now tastes SWEET — not rich, not savoury, just straight-up sweet. It feels completely off and honestly quite strange. Now I’m just wondering… is this some new ramen style, or has the recipe gone wrong somewhere?
View on GoogleServed hot tea with a dirty cup. Ramen stuck together in the soup and for that price, had to order an egg separately. I came here because everywhere else was crowded. So it’s empty for a good reason.
View on GoogleDecent enough truffle ramen. Tried the signature dried ramen and the black garlic tonkatsu ramen. Note that all dry ramen is served cold. Signature dry ramen doesn’t have a very strong truffle flavor. It’s a nice umami flavor when mixed with the egg yolk, but nothing incredible. Black Garlic ramen is similarly serviceable.
View on GoogleTried a few of their ramens, the truffle ones were okay but quite underwhelming. Noodles were nicely al dente, but the bowls were small and lacked ingredients. The broth was flat, and the pork had a frozen taste. Gyozas were oily and soggy. Service was friendly and quick, and the place was clean though quite cramped. Paid about $60 for two bowls, gyoza, and drinks. For the portion and taste, it felt overpriced. Nice staff, but I wouldn’t come back.
